I can help tonight after 6pm.

I can help tonight after 6pm.  After installing the foam on the east wall of the ferm room, how do we plan on securing the FRP?  I know typically it is secured with epoxy, but do we run the risk of pulling the insulation off of the wall with the weight of the FRP unless we addtionally secure it with screws.  Which would beg the question on the east wall, do we have a drill bit long enough since the one Dave and I were using yesterday was barely long enough to get through the thick foam.

By east do you mean brick

By east do you mean brick wall? On the brick wall you could uses some 1/2" furring strips that run from ceiling and attach to the wood beam to floor and attachthrough the lineloium into the floor. The other 4 walls you can screw through the foam to the plywood. The east wall has 4" of foam so we need 4.5" screws. The other walls I think are only 2" of foam.

Its also looking like I won't be able to make it until pretty late tonight, if at all.  I should be able to come by tomorrow after work though.

Oh... my... god.  Why haven't we done this?    http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...

Okay, I'll be at the brew

Okay, I'll be at the brew house between 7:00-7:30 tomorrow; earlier if I can, but that's the safe bet.

Jeff,

Jeff,

I'll be leaving Oak Brook around 5.  Depending on the traffic I'll probably be getting there right around 7 as well.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it

I'm sorry I couldn't make it Sunday, I had a friend over from Ireland and their flight was much later than I had originally thought so I couldn't leave them. I know most the work is done but I will DEFINTIELY be available to help this Saturday if any odds or ends need to be done. I plan to bottle at some stage but let me know if there's anything I can help with.

Big thanks to CHUCK MAC, for

Big thanks to CHUCK MAC, for being at the brew house all yesterday, all today, and going back to finish the job tomorrow. Big thanks to CONRAD for taking a half day to work on the ferm room today. Big thanks to KEN for spenign his entire night there. Thanks to STEVEN for helping out this evening.

PLEASE COME HELP TOMORROW! CHUCK WILL BE THERE AROUND NOON! HE IS NOT GOING TO PUT ALL THOSE FERMENTORS BACK HIMSELF. JUST STOP BY FOR 30 MINUITS AFTER WORK AND MOVE A FEW FERMENTORS. THANKS!

The ferm room is 90% done. All the major FRP work is done, a couple odds and ends to take care of with that. The shelves need to get reassembled, then the linoleum cut and attached to the shelves. The door needs to get put back on.

Then the fermentors need to go back in and ther rest of the brew house organized.

The plumbing is 99% finished. I just need to get a couple quick disconnects for the table and thats it.

All the brew bays have hot water.

The counterflow is hardlined with cold water.

Loft is cleaned out and marked for brewbays and CHAOS storage.

Thanks everyone.

Okay, I accomplished the

Okay, I accomplished the following tonight:

Put the grain buckets and stuff back in thier storage spots along the brick wall.  Chuck, using your fool proof method of stepping on a screw I found another one sticking through the ferm room cieling.  I used a wrench to bend both screws.  There may be more.

I swept the entire brewhouse, then mopped about 2/3 of it.  There was a ton of dirt on the floor, but you can tell the difference.

I wiped down brew stations 1 through 3.  I took everything off all three levels of brew station one, so that one is cleaner than it's been in a while.  Brew station four still has a bunch of tools, so is not usable yet.

I wasn't sure what to do with those three old burners, so left them by the remaining material.  Also in that spot is the bucket of whiskey and Niilo's fermenter.  Dan believes it may be a sour and is going to call him to verify.  I put a couple buckets in the brew house storage space on the loft along with that giant white board.

I ran out of time, but the brewhouse is definitely usable.

Thanks Chuck and Jeff for

Thanks Chuck and Jeff for getting the brewhouse usable again.  Thanks again to everyone who put in time on this project.  The ferm room looks fantastic, and should be much easier to keep clean in the future.

Great job everyone.

So...  Not to rain on the

So...  Not to rain on the parade because a lot of great work got done.  But, I'm pretty sure we're going to get fined when they come through to collect the garbage in the morning.  I'm going to have to move pretty much all the wood back into the brewhouse until someone can come up with a plan for how to get rid of it.  Same goes with some of the other materials.

How do we go about getting rid of that stuff?  Do we need to rent a dumpster or something?  We certainly don't want that nasty shit taking up space in the brewhouse.

How much would it cost for us

How much would it cost for us to get a 6 or 10 yard dumpster?  Anyone know?  It wouldn't take too long if we got one to the BH to throw it all in.

Oh... my... god.  Why haven't we done this?    http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...

I took a quick second and

I took a quick second and called 1-800-Got-Junk.  Apparently they charge not by the time but by the amount of stuff removed.  Based on what I saw last night they estimated it would be $175 and $300 to remove the stuff.  Also there's $10 off if you book for the current or next day if they have open time.

Dan, I was using the outside

Dan, I was using the outside hose last night, so am not sure what's up with the water, unless someone came in this morning to do some work on the sink or something.

There was a very small leak

There was a very small leak on the side of the counter-flow chiller so someone may have shut-off the water main in the brewhouse until we're able to fix it.

Hi Mike,

Hi Mike,

There are some dirty glasses and jars in the sink, the floor on the brew station side needs to be mopped really well, and the brewing utensils at station one should be brought out from the office to the table.  It would help a lot if you have time to knock out those few things should you have time.  Thanks!
