We're looking for a straight truck with a lift gate for Aug 31 - this Saturday. If anyone has access to one, that would be great. If we don't have access to one, we'll have to rent one.
We can provide insurance for any truck someone is willing to lend.
Thanks!
With those thoughts, I'd like opinions on weather to approve $300 for a liftgate truck or $100 for a regular one.
you really dont need a lift gate unless you are using pallets and a pallet jack. and a $20 or $30 uhaul should work just fine. with gas and mileage, you will be under $50

Hey - as far as I'm concerned, its up to the people doing the moving. Those fridges are just big and heavy....
Didn't Conrad know of a brewery that was going to loan us a truck? Also, I'm hopeful we'll have people to help out on Saturday so I'd say lets go cheap. If no one shows, can we get a liftgate that morning quickly?
Oh... my... god. Why haven't we done this? http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...
If we can get a rental with a low deck height, a ramp, and a good sturdy dolly with a strap or some rope, we should be fine as long as a few people show up. One person could do the move by themselves with a lift gate, but if we can acquire the aforementioned products and have a few people lend a hand on the ramp for safety I feel that will be fine....plus it saves money.
Alright - the movers have it. Cheap truck for you.
we brought those fridges in a uhaul in the first place.

is the moving crew taking everyone's grain buckets or is everyone responsible for their own?

If you come and help on Saturday, we'll make sure all of your stuff from your bays gets moved, otherwise we've asked that you make your own arrangements.

What about fermenters will they be moved saturday?
In case Conrad doesn't get us a free truck - we have a reservation at Chicagoland Truck Rental (773.588.3939) at 9:30 AM. Someone will need to pick it up - I'm going to be out of town.

All of the uhaul and other similar trucks are unavailable.
i second josh's question

Fermentors will be moved. Anyone who can pick theirs up and take it home for a few days is welcome / encoraged to do so.
As of now there is zero (0, nada, zilch) storage at the new brewhouse aside from the ferm room. Grab your stuff from CHAOS 1.0 by Sat as instructed in the email or run the risk of it being left inside a demo'd building. Don't expect anyone to do your dirty work unless you've confirmed it with them.
