November 21: Save the Brand Brewery
by Staff
Join Forgotten Chicago for a fun evening of brews and information about
Chicago’s brewing history and efforts to save the historic Brand Brewing
complex on Elston.
The historic _Brand Brewery_
(http://forgottenchicago.com/articles/bygone-breweries/) faces imminent demolition for a _big-box retailer._
(http://www.oururbantimes.com/development/should-historic-elston-ave-brewing-complex-be-d
estroyed-big-box-retailer) As one of Chicago’s last and most visible
brewing remnants (located at 2530 N. Elston), the loss of Brand would create a
large void in the city’s historic fabric.
With time running out, Forgotten Chicago is co-sponsoring an event at
_Revolution Brewing_ (http://revbrew.com/) to raise awareness of the brewery’s
history and potential fate. Come out and join us for an evening of
Revolution brews, appetizers, and a presentation including photos and speakers who
will discuss the history and future of Brand Brewing as well as what you
can do to help save it.
When? Monday, November 21, 7-9 PM.
Where? _Revolution Brewing,_ (http://revbrew.com/) 2323 N. Milwaukee,
Chicago.
How much? $20/person in advance, $25 at the door (if available!).
