Hey guys,
Brewed up a couple batches today, and as I was cleaning the mash tun (w/ hot water) the hot-water splitter connection underneath the sink closest to the bar sprung a leak. It was a pretty vicious outpour, but thankfully directly over the drain. I was unable to stop the deluge by turning off the hot water's main line underneath one of the brew tables.
It seemed to be coming from the splitter that brought the hot water into sink one (then onto sink two). I couldn't find a screwdriver that could adjust the clamp, so I turned off the water and figured I would leave it to the expert(s).

From this picture, I believe it was the left part of the y-split. If that helps.

Not suprised, have been waiting for this line to melt...
Do we need to turn the hot water temp back down to ~120 or so so that we don't melt these hoses?
Just replace it with high temp hose...
Chuck, I've seen the hose by the stove fly off due to the hot water. Is that just a matter of tightening the clamp? I'm afraid of it.
It seemed like it was a bottleneck effect in a couple places.. To the point where just tightening the clamps wouldn't work because the hoses themselves were bulging due to the pressure and heat made the hoses softer and more expandable. Eventually water wins that battle.
Just my amateur observation, take it with a grain of salt!
That hose clamp is junk. It did that to me today... I will be running our cold water line to the opposite wall and will be moving the sink over to the wall as well. I plan on doing this on Sunday. I will fix the sink then...
Sink repaired. It's got a little more hose in there that needs to be changed out for proper size high temp hose, but it works.
