Since Beermiscuous opened in June, patrons have been captivated by the beer café’s large mural that highlights 57 area breweries and pays homage to the well- known Chicago CTA map. Now, Chicago’s first craft beer café is putting a limited-edition poster and t-shirt of the Chicagoland Map of Breweries mural up for sale. “Local craft beer is the main focus at Beermiscuous, so we wanted to provide a fun reminder in the café of how extensive the Chicago beer community has grown over the past few years.” says owner Paul Leamon. “Customers regularly ask if they can purchase a version of the map, so we’re creating a poster and t-shirt that will allow fans to display their Chicago beer pride.”
To kick off the poster and t-shirt sale, Beermiscuous is hosting a launch party on Thursday, December 4 at 7pm, with free beer tastings from two breweries represented on the map: Atlas Brewing Company (atlasbeercompany.com), located just down the block from Beermiscuous, and Horse Thief Hollow (horsethiefbrewing.com), a popular brewpub in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood.
Everyone who buys a poster or t-shirt at the event will receive a 10% discount on those items. The poster and t-shirt will also be available on the Beermiscuous website (beermiscuous.com/swag), and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Free Spirit Media (freespiritmedia.org), an organization that provides education, access, and opportunity in media production to more than 500 underserved youth in Chicago
