Hi all. We are going to be adding a quick segment to our general meetings called a "Beer Report" and I need your help.
The premise is that a member or members pick a style of beer that they like or would like to learn more about. Spend 5 minutes and enlighten everyone with a brief overview of the style, what you like/don't like about it, commercial examples any tips for brewing it. The member should bring enough beer to sample for the other members (2-3 bombers or a 6-pack) in that specific style. CHAOS will reimburse you for the beer you bought, up to $15.
This is a great way for you newer brewer/apprentice/friends to introduce yourself and meet some members!
I will need volunteers to cover the next three meetings:
January 11th @ 6:00 pm
February TBA
March TBA

... details?
Edit: the post was blank when I wrote this reply. ;)
Profound.
hah, sorry. I somehow saved the post before I was done writing the whole thing out. We are all leaders!
I can do the 11th.
I forbid you from doing anything in categories 1A-C.
Lol - you're in. Pick whatever you'd like.
Excellent, I will prepare well.
The beer reports - how much should we bring? Say I were to bring Icehouse. Should I bring a 30 pack? Or would a 40oz be enough?
Edit: answered my own dumb question by reading the whole post.
I'll do some research and volunteer soon.
Mark, if you know where to get 40's of Icehouse in the city these days, please let me know. I just don't think the point of these style reports should be to showcase rare whales.
A 30 pack or two really should be sufficient to demonstrate the advantages of the style.
Is it acceptable for a member to brew a version of the style?
God. It's just like you, Jeff, to go suggesting something really cool for a home brewer to do and make it more interesting for the rest of us. The nerve!

100% agree. I want to do bock or english pale ales for a style presentation with several good examples in the near future.
truction dust flying around. Exactly, Mark. this should be showcasing a good example or a style, not a rare bird. Extra points if its a Chicago beer.
Sean C and Rob will be doing January. Looking forward to it.
Any takers for February?
Are we moving the meeting to the 8th? If so, I'll do it.
