Jeff just contacted me while he was brewing to inform me that both Keg Washers are broken. A small plastic piece at the base of both have snapped.
I sent an email to the manufacturer (which seems like a mom & pop operation) for replacement parts (including on-site back-ups). I hope to have these fixed by the middle of next week.
Jeff, if you're around in the next hour or two: are these totally broken? I set one of them up and it seems to be working fine, for a carboy anyway.
Yeah, as far as I know they are. Which one did you get going?
The one that was on the right, under the bottling table. I didn't do anything to it: just put some sanitizer and plugged in.
Yeah, that one will work for a while, then stop working. So, get your carboys cleaned while you can!!
Good placement. I'm sure to find something left on a bar. :)
Yeah, it kinda crapped out right after I put mine on there, so maybe it is dead after all.
Is that the one with the new pump or does it have an older square pump?
Shit sorry, I forgot to post this on Saturday. Here are pictures of the relevant pieces, if helpful. The first is the main piece that screws into the spigot/rod thing, the second is the tubing that connects from the pump to said piece. The input in the second pic is pretty well adhered to the tubing.
Both of the pieces have been ordered, including two additional back-ups from the manufacturer. He should be sending them out today.
For future reference: Mark at Mark's Keg Washer is who you should contact: mark@kegwasher.com
We should build permanent fixtures for these to circumvent the crappy, flimsy holders that are on there now. Less moving around = less breakage. I am not volunteering myself for this though haha.
In order to economize space, should there be keg-washer space on the forthcoming bottling/kegging/transferring/gravity reading station?
