Chicago Ale Fest, June 19-20

This is still a couple months out, but is anyone planning on going to the Chicago Ale Fest? http://chicagoalefest.com I'm debating whether I want to spend $50 on another beer fest. Well, $45: Untappd sent me a $5 promo code, and it wouldn't be right to post it here, but I'll bet you can guess it.

Not sure if I'm alone in

Not sure if I'm alone in saying that I'm tired of beer fests. I'll volunteer at them, but I don't think I'll be paying to attend them anymore, unless it's something truly unique.

I've become pretty picky

I've become pretty picky about the beer fests I attend, as well. Big ones like this usually don't have unique beers and are geared towards 'civilians' rather than people like us who spend our lives soaked in micro brews.

If you are going to spend the

If you are going to spend the money, I reccomend going to one of Half Acre or Lagunitas' parties.  Never been disappointed with those.  I think Lagunitas beer circus is sold out, but HA is on sale this Sunday I think.

I wasn't really interested in

I wasn't really interested in the beer at this one: it seems like the kind of event that would be fun because of the group you're with, not becasue of the beer on offer. Maybe I should just take that $45 and spend the afternoon at a brewery instead :-)
