Chase QuickPay has become the de facto payment method between members, for things like shares of a barrel and rent on storage spots. I got an email from Chase the other day indicating that they're changing the rules on who can use it.
The bottom line is that people who don't have a Chase checking account—people like me, that is—will need to create one in the next couple weeks if we want to keep using QuickPay.
I would urge everyone to setup Square Cash and/or Venmo if you need to receive money from other members. Both options are free. I haven't used Venmo, but I've used Square a lot and it's quick and easy, and more importantly, the money is transferred to the recipient's account quickly.

We are a participating member of clearXchange (cXc), a person-to-person payment network created as a convenient, fast and secure way for you to send and receive money with people.
With this partnership, starting August 19, you will need to use a Chase checking account or Chase Liquid® Card to use Chase QuickPaySM. Unless you use an eligible Chase account, Chase QuickPay payments scheduled after August 19 will be canceled and we will deactivate your Chase QuickPay service.
To continue using person-to-person payment services, please choose one of these options:
- Open a Chase checking account or Chase Liquid® Card by August 19 to continue using Chase QuickPay. Talk to a banker or visit chase.com/checking to learn more about the conveniences of having all of your accounts in one place.
- Use your primary bank's person-to-person payment service if they are also a participating member of clearXchange. Visit clearXchange.com to learn about participating members.
- Use clearXchange if your bank is not a participating member. Visit clearXchange.com to learn more.
Your other Chase relationships will not change
I have venmo and can vouch for it. It connects to my chase account and it all works great.
I'll check it out. For the club to reimburse members for expenses, the most convenient way at this point is PayPal, in that it requires the least amount of moving money around.
