Hey Chaos,
I know that there has been talk of doing some sort of electric brewery at Chaos in the past. I just came across this ad on craigslist: what appears to be a fairly complete e-herms 220v brewery with two keggles, a heat exchanger, and a pump for $675. Assuming the stuff is in good condition, this could be a relatively easy way for the club to get into electric brewing, especially since we already have a 220v outlet (we do, right?). It would also increase the number of people who could brew 10 gallon batches at any one time, since it's a burner a HLT, and a mashtun all in one.
If I had a bit more space (and money), I would consider buying it myself. If there is Chaos interest, I would potentially kick in a bit of money to make it happen.
What says the group?

It looks like it is gone...
I know it is not electronic, but I would be wiling to set up my system there permanently for anyone to use. Its a direct fire RIMS system.
I would be willing to kick in a little too.....i think a electric brewing system would be great
Yeah, it seems to me that just the parts in that setup are worth more than the asking price, not to mention all of the labor that would be involved in putting everything together.
If it works, I'd be willing to kick in a share as well. Given what it looks like it includes, $675 seems like a steal. Hopefully nothings wrong... (I'm ever the optimist!)
Oh... my... god. Why haven't we done this? http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...

This would be great. I'm on board, too.
So what is the benefits of going electric?
As Lucas noted, this thread was resurrected by a spam post. that e-brewery kit is long gone.
