CHAOS has some great events coming up, and anytime we have some guests come over, its time to clean up.
We have the Lagunitas shootout on Saturday, and then we are hosting both Lagunitas and the judging panel on Tuesday. Lets get together and bring the brew house to a showing condition receive our guests.
We are looking for a few good volunteers to get the job done. We are looking to get this done between thursday evening and Saturday morning.

Daniel, If in fact we can score a good amount of bottles from Pipeworks then I would be OK tossing our bottles, otherwise we should keep what we have.
can I make a suggestion on the bottles? Namely, that we throw away most all of them (at least the ones that have stuff in the bottom of them) and pick up all the cases of bombers that Pipeworks is advertising? Those are brand-spanking new bombers.

I should be able to come over and help on Friday, but it will need to be in the afternoon. I'll be on a plane all day tomorrow and will likely be a zombie in search of sleep (and brains...). If someone can coordinate a time then, I'll be there.

This may be a bit ambitious but:
(1) I plan on moving the bottles up stairs and organizing them in some way (leaving some space for bottles inevitably to come).
(2) I will deal with the entryway mess (move insulation and masonite upstairs for the time being; get rid of unnecessary items; find a home for other items).
(3) Lumber upstairs (organizing, pitching, keeping)
i put everyone down for their respective days. other than listed, i dont have a to do list. just use your best judgement where you can help.
also, the floor is now completely repainted and a seal coat put on. this will greatly help with floor maintenance. but until it fully cures, just be gentle with it. it will be fine to walk on.

We are running out of real-estate is the real problem - both upstairs and downstairs. When the wood upstairs goes, it will be replaced with a load bottles from downstairs (and more to come for all the barrels) - no real estate gained. There's a huge box along the west wall. Not really sure where these "much-needed shelves" will go....
im sure some of it will be trash.
there are some doors up there that will make much needed shelves up there, or maybe shelves for the lower west wall.
there is various short lumber that we occasionally use, but its taking up useful real estate, i dont know where to go with it.

Friday night and Saturday morning work great for me.
lets come up with a plan for the waste site. most of the things that need to go there are currently in the gangway, so it doesnt really alleviate any cleaning in the brew house itself.
if we have some chain available, i will suspend the hot box from the ceiling to get that out of the way. it wont be ready to store carboys yet, but it will get the process going.
agreed with Dave that this cleaning of the office should be intensive and hopefully final.

I'll be there, Thursday works well for me. We also need to add a few things to the list. Trying to organize the "office" a little by finding permenant locations for things and affixing a label will help a lot. Second...we need to clean out the keezer. Currently it is in shambles after being gutted for the brew springsteen event. We have new regulators...this is a good time to put the keezer back together with the upgrade parts we got. I plan to tackle this Thursday....cleaning keezer out and upgrading - in addition to general clean up of the brew house.
And, let's be honest, it's not going to be as much cleaning as it is going to be hiding (e.g., stout night everything was shoved into the loft and we hung a canvas tarp to hide all the stuff up there).
I can help out Friday evening/night.
I feel compelled to vent a bit, though:if we get rid of all the excess, packrat-ed crap and keep it tidy on a daily basis, we may not need repeated "all call"s for as many people as possible to get it into presentable shape (case in point, I organized the office months ago and it has since returned to different permutations of shit hole, especially the counter and cabinet space on the west wall).
