Hi! I was at a party with Chef Won Kim (the founder of Brew Ha Ha, Hey Hey, Ho Ho) and I told him that CHAOS should have a table at the next event, Brew Springstein. He was very receptive to it and said that he would pencil us in as one of the homebrew groups. Are you guys interested? Chris and I already have an idea for the beer we would like to contribute. I'm thinking that we should have 6-8 beers to offer patrons, with 3 or 4 people working the booth and pouring. What do you think? It would be a great way to gain even more exposure and attract new members. The event is on April 7th in the same place as Brew Ho Ho (1569 N Damen). If you guys are interested, I would be happy to take the lead on this and organize it.
Cheers!
Jess
Its actually 4 clamps...but yeah not a big deal..I'll just pick some up like I originally planed.
That's why I'll just buy them...its easier for me.
Jess,
The jockey box is 99 percent done. I just need to attach two hoses with clamps...everything else is complete. I'll bring it over tomorrow with the kegs.
I don't know yet...I'll just buy some clamps if you feel uncomfortable leaving it.
Do you want me to pick up the jockey box, or is more work needed? Let me know of anything else you want me to pick up.
I won't be there until later...but you can leave them in/by the keezer if I'm not there. I can't remember the hose size...but the joc is there in the BH.
I probably won't take the kegs over until tomorrow at noon...some of them still are carbing.
I plan to drop off by noon...they should be settled out by the time the event starts.
I am picking up Ed's oranges, tshirts, and some stickers/fliers. If you want me to pick up anything else, let me know.
What time ate the kegs being picked up and taken to the event? I wanted to stop by the brew house tonight and try mine before the event since I'm unable to attend. I was planning on getting there by 6pm tonight at the latest.
The jockey box is just about done...I need to pick up some clamps today at home depot. That's it...
its's been tested and works well...I'll run some star san through the lines tonight so that its ready for tomorrow.
With the jockey and your regulator we should be able to pour 4 beers at a time. Maybe we can get stickers or something like Steven suggested and put them next to beers that are serving...tell people to come back in an hour for the others...
I think you just dubbed my new catch phrase. Thanks, Ed! Er, I mean Bill! ;)

Hat, you don't want me to handle your oranges, too? I'm insulted! ;) sorry, for some reason I ALWAYS get your and Ed's names confused. So sorry! I am horrible with names!
Great! Thanks! If I understand correctly, David will be picking up the kegs and I will be picking up some ancillary things. Are there tubs there to hold additional kegs? I could pick those up. Also, I could grab the jockey box if it is finished. I will grab your oranges Bill!
I also grabbed some pretzels at Target yesterday so we can provide a little snack along with our beers.
Jessica,
My keg is in the keezer at the brewhouse...it has blue tape on it, also there is a bag of oranges in the fridge with a a picnic tapper...
I told David last night because I was not sure who was going to pickup what...but all my stuff is at the brewhouse ready to go...
Good Luck!
How much is the ticket bill?
Happy Brew Springsteen Eve! Won said that the Variable Space will be open at 7pm tonight for set up. If you want to just set up tomorrow, it will be available for setup starting at noon. I will be dropping by the brew house tonight around 5pm, if you need me to pick up anything let me know. I am still on the fence about whether to start setting up tonight or tomorrow.
Steven,
Maybe it is too late to add IBUs?....but just in case...mine is 21 IBUs
I know I always like to see what the IBUs are when I look at the menu board...helps me gauge bitterness when selecting a brew depending on the mood i'm in...
Steven I think it is definately worth it. If we even get 2 or 3 people to come to that event after seeing the flyer then it pays for itselft. Make sure to also take some Cinco flyers that are in the brewhouse and hand them out at the event.
I was thinking it would be cool to have flyers with our playlist on one side, and Cinco de Cerveza on the other, but that will raise print cost to around $25. Worth it?
There are two picnic taps that were purchased for the club that are in the brewhouse, I think they are in the kegging drawer of that little plastic thingy. Feel free to use those if you guys want or need to.
beautiful!
That's awesome Steven!!! Love it!!!

I dropped off the keg at the brewhouse...it is on the table....labeled
Dave,
Didn't we get 3 picnic taps for the dinner event? Those should be at the brewhouse.
Well done Steven!! ....An your Honey Apricot Cardamon sounds tasty!..
How bout this for the bar sign (11x17). We can put a green dot next to beers on tap, and a red dot for those that are empty.
Mine is a american pale ale...ill drop it off on thurs night
Can't see...thru my phone
I forget what the type tubing I used...but I looked at mcmaster and grainger. The later was cheaper...don't remember tunbing type tho
I think Bill should buy a scuba tank harness and use it to strap a corney on his back and he can walk the event pouring beers...Scuba Bill....and his seaweed ale...
I believe I have a picnic tap that I can send with my keg...
I think if we have a tub with ice that should work for a couple other kegs. We have picnic taps, I think. I'll have to ask Chris where he put them. :) And we are bringing our gas tank with dual regulator.
Ooo! I want to brew for the mash tun event! I want to rub it in his face that he stood me up!I'm not bitter... ;)
Ice is being provided for free...and we have two tubs already...just need reg/picnic taps.
The jockey box has two taps. Keezer is not really all the mobile...so that's not an option...
...Anyone else have a solution for serving more beers. By the way. We made enoug brew that if we were the only ones serving...we would have enough.
Wow we have a lot of beers...and only a couple taps...can anyone spare a regulator and picnic taps.
On a side note: Marias bar in Bridgeport has asked CHAOS to contribute a few beers for the launch of their magazine - Mash Tun. (At least I think that's the name - pretty sure). There going to donate some money to the club as well for each corny. So same deal as this event sorta. I'll post details later...in a different thread instead of hijacking this one :)
My beer is bottled. I assume the 8 other beers are kegged (lmk if that's not the case).
How many taps will we have going at once?

Dave, I have my keg labeled and in the keezer.
Hey bill. Make sure you label it and mark it so that A. I know which keg to grab and B. People don't hook it up and drink it.
I will have the beer and oranges there by 5...Thanks Jessica!!
If you want to drop off oranges, I can slice them. I will stop by the brew house Friday night around 5 pm to pick up tshirts and other things that need to be taken to the event. Would it be there by then? If not, maybe David could pick them up when he picks up the kegs? I can slice them at the event. If anyone needs to have co2 tanks filled for the event, I will be getting mine filled sat morning and could fill others too. Just make sure it is at the brew house Fri night.
Thanks for getting back to me...
I won't be able to attend the event...I'll be out of town...but I am dropping off my keg Friday at the club...I can drop off oranges...with the keg...I could slice them..but I am not sure how fresh they would be by the time you serve...
Let me know...
Hi! Will you be at the event? If so, you could just bring the sliced oranges with you. If you won't or you need help, I could pick up some oranges and slice them. Let me know.
Steven, do you have enough info for the signs? What other info do you need?
Hi Jessica....
I posted earlier I was dropping off a Orange Kolsch...and I recommend serving it with a orange slice...should I provide a couple whole oranges? Or do I need to slice them? Can you please let me know...
Thanks...
Sounds great! Thanks for putting the jockey box together! I may stop by the brew club on Friday to pick up tshirts. How much should we sell them for? $15?
If folks want to drop off brews, make sure you label and properly carb your brews. I saw Daniels in the keezer and will take that over on Saturday. I'm open to getting the other stuff on friday like tubs and the jockey box - which by the way is just about finished. I need to buy some clamps at the big box. And it will be good to go. Coils are all done and everything is drilled.
Thanks for organizing this Jess.
Well, i was just going to take it and skip town but since you caught me i guess we can be more diplomatic. I was thinking we could either divide it up among the brewers, or first pay those that bought tickets and then give to the club. I'm open to suggestions!
Hi all! Here's the latest email from Won. He says we can set up a bit on Friday night if we want to get signage and the jockey box there early. Or we could just set up early on Sat. So excited for this! Let me know if you have any ques, concerns.
So the time is upon us.
We are officially sold out of tickets at 250 people.
A few things.
- We will most likely have access to the space Friday evening to do a preliminary set up. We will be loading the tables, some of the catering equipment, etc. I highly recommend you guys bring as much shit as you can this evening so that load in Saturday can run smoothly unlike the cluster fuck we created right in front of the space.
- I am staffing the whole event but that shouldn't mean that you don't at least clean up a little bit after yourselves. Roy cleaned and picked up a bunch of shit left behind.
- Ice and cups will be provided
- Stipends of $200 will be paid to past participants and $150 for newer participants. This is no excpetion. Please do not talk to me about money or ask for more. I think this is more than fair and this was outlined at the beginning of the email chain months ago. I'm not going to argue with any of you and I don't want money to be an issue. You all knew the budget and if you went waaaay over, then its your fucking fault. These events are for you guys to get publicity and exposure to people that would never have known about you or your beers. I shouldn't have to explain myself or divulge any information beyond this. If you guys think any of this is unfair, keep it to your self.
- I will let you know more specifics as we get closer to the date, but know that 250 tickets are sold but I'm reserving extra room for press, restaurants, and industry.
Word?
Word.
Won
ps it's a good beer.
