KEG LID CUTOUT JIG AVAILABLE

Brew House Keg Jig

There is a jig available in the Brew house now to help cut out the tops of kegs to convert them into keggles.

You will need:

4.5" angle grinder (There might be one in the BH) - You might have to remove guard.

4.5" cutoff wheels (Harbor Freight has 5/$5) Plan on one wheel per lid.

12" clamps (The ones i used were cheap one from HF and broke so I took them back)

Provided:

"L" jig with pivot (2" hole saw)

Shim for grinder

JIG set up to cut.

Things you need to know:

• You need to remove valve from keg. See the Keg to Brew Kettle Conversion video link above for a how-to.
• When grinding do not apply too much downward pressure.  It will cause the cutting wheel to bend.  Let the tool do the work.
• Should really do this with two(2) people because you have to turn grinder "on" before mounting it to jig, then have someone plug it in while you hold jig for safer operation.
• Wear gloves and eye protection, probably should wear hearing protection too..
• Make sure you use at least two(2) clamps to secure grinder to jig. This is important because if the grinder is not secure it will wander and your top will not look good, I can not stress this enough!
• It should take 3-5 minutes to cut out top.
• When first starting, go around once to create line to follow.
• Work blade back and forth
