whats your favorite beer in the whole wide world ever??
For me, partly because I'm a sentimentalist and partly because it is my favorite, would be Alpha King. It was the beer that made me love hoppy beer. Other than that, I would probably say something like Orval or perhaps Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere or even something like Russian river Temptation or Ayinger Jahrhundert...
The Reserve is great. They have plenty of it at Binny's in S. Loop if you're looking. Worth the money in my opinion.
The old stock ale from N Coast is also delicious. I haven't tried the reserve version aged on burbon but have a bottle laying down in the cellar. Might have to get another bottle...

Aventinus is so good. So is end of the world, so is labyrinth and kbs. Glad some of us agree on beer. (still need to try dragon's milk). I'm down with old rasputin for life. I really dig the fact that the hops speak in that beer moreso thanb other ris's. It makes for a near-perfect drink. I actually sort of feel that way about nearly everything North Coast makes, though. Been drinking a lot of Scrimshaw pilsener lately.
It's so hard to choose and I don't have that grand of a pallet. I prefer Stouts and Porters to all other styles of beer and there are so many good stouts and porters out there!! I guess I'd have to say...Dragon's Milk....no...KBS...no Dark Lord...no...Labrynth...Ugh! It's too hard to choose!! How about a top 3?

La Fin du Monde...Clove, banana, lemon, fresh bready malt backbone - definitely.
Schneider Aventinus.this is the beer that turned me on to beer. ive had it first served in a bavarian themed bar in philly called ludwigs. it was one of those places that were gaudy in its theme but instead you actually felt transported to a different place and time. even the bartenders wore lederhosen and the girls wore the traditional dresses. they poured me this beer one day. it takes a few minutes to fill a glass because its so heavy. when you put it up to your face, all the frangrances smack you with scents of clove, banana, and something else i cant quite hone in on. upon first sip, it warms you up with its 8.something% ABV, and the flavors coalesce into heaven. this is a beer that can be enjoyed warm or chilled, summer or winter. the taste is never boring, and i cant image i would ever get tired of it. if im buried when i die, i will make plans to be buried with a bottle of it to take with me into the afterlife.
