Big Shoulders Coffee Competition

From their facebook post:

"Homebrewers, enter The Great Coffee Beer Challenge before it's too late! 

Big Shoulders is offering a bag of Colombian coffee beans as brewing ingredients to those of you interested in entering into our competition. Each participant would need to drop off 12, 12-ounce bottles of their coffee homebrew to our shop by December 2.

Each entrant with up to two guests are welcome to attend the judging where they'll get to taste other beer entries on Tuesday, December 4, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Prizes will be announced closer to the date of the competition.

Big Shoulders contacted us via the facebook page, Kyle answered the email and approached a few of us about entering.  Me and him decided to just blend it together with some stout from the Goose barrel and we've cold extracted some coffee to be entered.  It seemed appropriate since the Goose Barrel is a blend of several club member's efforts.  I'll be brewing to replace that small amount.

I recently received the following via email:

"Hello All!

 Here is the email you've all been waiting for! December 4th is quickly approaching and I hope you're all as excited as we are. I just wanted to go over a few things again for everyone. We want to have all of the entries in the shop by Sunday December 2nd (we close at 5pm that day) so we can have time to set everything up.  We have limited space in our shop so this isn't necessarily a public event, but we want you all to feel free to invite friends or family to come and enjoy the evening with us.  The door will open at 6:00.  We will have hor d'oeuvres and blind tastings until about 7:30.  There will be a ballot box so everyone can vote for their favorite.  The top three will then face our judges panel who will decide the ultimate winner. If you have any questions let me know. Good Luck!Sarah B."
