B&G: Why is the Kedzie crew so awful?

Is it just I who continues to have sub-par encounters with staff at Brew & Grow Kedzie?

The staff at Morgan St. is so awesome: friendly, helpful, enthusiastic about brewing. The staff at Kedzie doesn't even seem to care that you're giving them a sale much less that you're into homebrewing: the freakin' theme of their store! Or perhaps they're more interested in the "grow" part of their operation...

I think I'm going to start planning brews well ahead of time so that I can go out of my way to go to the Morgan store. It's too bad considering the Kedzie store is 1.7 miles from my house and the Morgan store is 5.3 miles away.

Anyone else not cool with the service at the Kedzie store or is it just my bad luck?

Depends on who you get.

Depends on who you get.  Larry has been helpful with me on brewing processes (he's the guy who does the classes and also runs the Sabco).  Roman and Vance have always been helpful too. Roman does a fair share of home brewing.  I tend to seek those guys out when I go there.  Roman seems to remember the last recipe I was working on on my last trip there and always asks how it turned out, always ask for me to bring in a bottle so they can sample.

Every time I've been there

Every time I've been there they always ask me how CHAOS is going, they always seem to remember that I'm a member.  One time they even sent another guy in the store my way to get him some membership info. I've always had a good experience there.

Oh... my... god.  Why haven't we done this?    http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...

I've always had consistently

I've always had consistently bad experiences before the morgan st location opened and have always been vocal about it.  Everyone's always too drunk or stoned to care about customer service.  I've always asked simple non pretentious questions with a good attitude and received seemingly intentional pretentious answers designed to fly over the head of most home brewers... and I consider myself decently knowledgeable about the brewing and fermentation process.  I've never had a bad experience at Morgan st.
