For Sale - CHAOS work shirt patches

The CHAOS work shirt patches have arrived! In order to keep the CHAOS funds more available for brew house improvements the board has decided that any merchandise will be paid for by the organizer, sold by the organizer, & after being paid back the remaining inventory or extra $ will be donated back to the club. For the patches I can accept Chase QuickPay under evjsmith@gmail.com or $cash$.

As discussed in the planning thread, the pricing will be:

1 patch for $4 - 2 patches for $7 - 3 patches for $11 - 4 patches for $14

Please see the picture for the two shirts I bought and made with the patches. Patches are 'iron on' and work best with some sort of barrier (light towel) in between the patch & iron. We'll see they hold up in the wash but they're also able to be sewn on.

I will be at the brewhouse this Saturday the 15th for the Open House from 9am-noon & will have patches with me then. If you are not able to attend I can leave them in an envelope for you if you have already paid, or I can mail them out to you if you provide me with your address. Other times to buy with cash will be available whenever I'm scheduled to be at the brew house. Cheers!

Okay... I ironed 2 onto some

Okay... I ironed 2 onto some Dickie's work shirts.  I think you will still need to sew them around the border or the patches will eventually separate from the shirt.  Anyone else with a different experience?

I noticed that the 1/8" black

I noticed that the 1/8" black border does not have glue behind it since its thicker than the rest of the patch, but the glue is holding well when I try to pull it off. The border not being glued does make it feel like its not on there as tight as it actually is though. I'll let everyone know how they hold up in the washer and dryer, which is my main concern. If not, it looks like the next workshop will be "Learning How to Sew"!

We got my daughter a sewing

We got my daughter a sewing machine for Christmas... Should I let her open it early?  Daddy has a project!

That's the thing about brewing, you'll learn how to become a janitor, a carpenter, a plumber and now a tailor.

Mine did not really stick

Mine did not really stick when ironing...  I'm going to sew them on to reinforce.

My wife suggested... Preheat

My wife suggested... Preheat the area with the iron 10-15 seconds (we set ours to 5 out of 7 heat), then put the patch in place with a dish towel over it and press down hard on the iron for 30-45 seconds, if it's loose repeat. Pull the dish towel and tug at the corners and see if its stuck in place.  Then turn the shirt inside out and put the iron on the backside of the patch w/o any towel and press with iron for 20 seconds.  I think you'll need to sew the borders down to keep the patch down but the wax/adhesive will prevent air bubbles from behind the patch - which happens after 2-3 washings.

Aha! Very clever.

Aha! Very clever.

Before I sew I will make one more pass with the iron the inside of the shirt as she suggests.

Are these patches still

Are these patches still available?  I'd like a couple if they are.  Evan, can you bring a few to stout night if you have some left?
