Ed from Maria's is teaming up with Chef Won Kim for another visual and brewery arts exhibition. He wants to feature CHAOS as a collective art of brew project. Basically he is asking for beer from interested members. He would need 12-24 bottles of beer with the beers name and ingredient's used. Please let me know if you are interested. I need the beer by May 16th.
what does won Kim have to do with it? Last time I saw him at our space he was talking trash to one of our founding members which I don't appreciate.
Since Maria's is one of our Partners, Ed approached me about possibly contributing to the event. Daniel if you feel that strongly about Won Kim, you are not obligated to provide any beer.

Anything specific that they're looking for aside from good beer? More exotic? More collaborative? Or is our "art" just the fact that we have a collaborative space?
I spoke to Ed last night and we wants to make "CHAOS" the exhibit. We would have an exhibit were we would feature our beer and be able to speak about the beer and the club with a wall of pictures of the clubhouse behind us. Any beer you want to provide would be great, there is no limitations.

I'm new to the homebrewing scene, but i'd be happy to contribute. I would be interested in participating in the event if we needrepresentation.
That's great Mike, I will put you down, just let me know what type of beer and how much you will provide.

I respect Ed but his partening with Won Kim is a bad call.
The guy's last Brew Ha Ha he food poisoned half of the guest.
The guy is a hack and there is also how he conducted himself at our 1st Stout Night...
I would love to partner our club with Ed and his events, but I hate see our club affilate with anything Won Kim is doing...
don't know if half the guests were poisoned, but I did have a few friends that got food poisoning from some undercooked pork being served at the event. I too am happy to collaborate with Ed and Marias as they've always only shown us respect and gratitude for our collaboration. I don't necessarily feel the same for what I saw from the Brew H_ whatever.
This popped up today;

How about a CHAOS barrel beer, I would chip in on a sour batch submission.
Does anyone know that we are dealing with a Korean/American Hipster Kartel here?
Watch what you say ;-)
there is Polish in there somewhere as well... tho im not sure how concerned anyone is about that...
...igz...
Whoa, didn't even wanna go there, surprised you have the courage to bring the Polish Connection up.
Oh, that's right, you're...
Cześć!
...igz...
Yeah Ed's Pops is/was Polski...
Ed does a mean kimchi polish sausage!
Do we have time for a barrel or are ya talking about a barrel already in progress?
I lost a Polish girlfriend to a Korean cult, these rivers run deep.
A barrel beer that has aged, let's kick some hipster ass. The sour barrel is totally ready, must be another barrel beer ready.
I assume it might be hard for people to part with their barrel beer, but if each person on a barrel project chipped in, it should easy to compile enough.
Dave's barrel may be ready by then.
It's a barley wine.
Damn those Moonies!
Awesome posting guys.
I want to first and foremost apologize for the bad experiences had by some of the members on here as I only have the utmost respect for C.H.A.O.S. members as I am a fan and supporter when I can be.
There are several quick decisioned almost hateful comments made about me though and I think it's only fair that I defend myself and again send out a sincere apology.
I've thrown about 7 underground beer events in several locations throughout the city primarily featuring home brews and showcasing their talent in which I do really believe in which is why i curate them. I am never going to be able to satisfy 100% of the people that come in but I can definitely extend an apology and sincere gratitude that you guys even made it out to one of the events.
With that said, these events are my brain child and Ed approached me about doing events as other venues and organizations have. I don't recall "insulting" any CHAOS member in their face and if anything was taken as such, then again I do apologize, when beer is involved and nice days, some things may slip out but being offensive is not intended.
I deal with a lot of drunks doing beer dinners and having attended many events and I know a lot of the CHAOS brew club members and have seen them less than sober or stellar and I get it happens to all of us. We get drunk, HOWEVER the difference is that I don't hold it against anyone or judge them for their behavior. Nor do I publicly bash them for their drunkneness in front of me or any of my events. And again its not your fault, its nobody's fault, but to come on here and say things about a typical drunk that didn't really cause any trouble or long term stress is hardly a reason to hold a grudge against me.
With that said, whether or not you guys participate in the next event, I would like to refund you somehow and invite the people that have had discrepancies with me or my event. It wasn't fair that you guys had a shitty time so I would love to refund or have you guys come as my guest and share a beer or six.
I'm sorry for this long winded post. I'm a dick and I drink a lot sometimes. I get it. Food poisoning on the other hand, that is a whole other issue. Either way, revisecmw@gmail.com email me so I can put you on the guest list for OTI.
Thank you all and keep brewing that aweseomeness.
I'm sorry to hear of the any issues with Won. I have been going to these events since the beginning and they have always been outstanding and Won is generally suportive of us. We did have a presence at Brew Springstein and it was a great success. It is a great opportunity to get our word out and meet up with other journeyman brewers.
I would hope that past grievences would be forgotton or mended. Won is definetly a good ally to the homebrewer.
I also had a great experience at Brew Springsteen. Won assembled an awesome group of brewers and set the stage for a very positive experience, same is true for Edmar's Mash Tun release party.
For those of us that have experienced the cold hand of corporate outreach (aka Hoptacular), we really have to hand it to Won and Ed for creating beer events that support the DIY community and don't relegate homebrew as a side show oddity.
FWIW, I want to add that I think the idea of a Korean Hipster Mafia is hilarious, and I hope that wasn't taken the wrong way. I was serious about entering some of our barrel aged beers. I'll work to get the stars to align in time. We have some awesome beers ready to roll.
So whats the word on this event? I have a few beers to enter...
