So a while back I noticed that our discount code wasn't working. I went up to Janesville the other day and talked to the guy directly. Here's what he told me. He was upset that the code had just been posted in the general area of the site. This was supposed to be intended for hand-on personal members of CHAOS. He discontinued the code due to recieving orders from California and Oregon using our code. He said he was going to send an email to someone to figure this out, but I thought it'd be nice to share the information I got from him when I asked him about it. Perhaps we need a better way to see the checkout codes, perhaps some type of hidden tab option similar to the door code?

Here's the deal with farmhouse
Seems like it needs to be behind a wall for paying members only, much like the door code. Easy enough
Good idea, Skyler. We'll have somebody contact John from Farmhouse and hopefully get this sorted out.
I actually fixed this about 2-3 weeks ago after I was on the partner page and realized I was logged out but could see the codes. You now have to be a card carrying (Friend, Apprentice, Brewer, or Alchemist) to see them. Thoughts?
Oh... my... god. Why haven't we done this? http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...
PERFECT
That's perfect, I didn't realize it was an issue. I know the first time we went to use the code it didn't work properly but he just manually took the amount off & figured it was always like that. I'll send John an email tomorrow letting him know that it's behind our pay wall now & apologize for any confusion.
We should do the same for all of the codes that we use with our online partners. Otherwise anyone can use them without even being a member.
lucas,
Does the site differentiate between Trial Member and Apprentice for this purpose? I believe that it should, so long as it's not too difficult.

Eric - This is the case for all partners, not just farmhouse. Only paying members should be able to see the relevant code
Adam - Personally, I think that if they're a trial, they should be able to use all of the benefits but that's my $0.02. Discuss!

Lucas,
I generally agree that Trial Members should get all of the benefits of full membership, except that we don't give Trial Members cards, do we? I think the partner discounts should be for "card carrying" members, no?
-Adam
we dont give trial members cards at this point
I sent John an email this morning to apologize & let him know that we've hidden the codes behind the pay wall now. He regularly posts product updates on HBT so I invited him to do the same here for any members that don't follow that. I'll update once I get a response.
Thanks again for the follow up on this Skylar
