New member - reserving brew time questions

Hi Guys and gals,

I am trying to reserve brew time for June 1. The "reserving brew time" page is helpful, but I am having some issues reserving time, possibly because I am an apprentice.

-I can't reserve time straight from the calendar.. I have to go to the "reserving brew time" page.

-I can't see a comments section to ask if someone to be a host for me. Do I just start a thread in the general forum like I am doing now? I can't see a 'Brewhouse schedule' forum.

-Also, who do I contact about paperwork to get all official about becoming brewer level?

Thanks in advance!

Matt,

Matt,

Welcome!  Sorry your having issues, I've answered your questions below:

  1. You can only reserve time from the Add New Brew Reservation page, You can find it here: http://www.chaosbrewclub.net/brewhouse/reservation/new.  We used to have a link at the top of the calendar, I'm adding one back in right now as we speak.  You can also find it at "My Account > Add New"
  2. If there's a specific day you're looking for and no one is brewing, then go ahead and make a post in the brewhouse schedule forum here: http://www.chaosbrewclub.net/forums/brewhouse-schedule.   I took a look at your account, you should be able to see it.  I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to see the schedule forum.  Can you try going directly to http://www.chaosbrewclub.net/forums/brewhouse-schedule for me and let me know if you get an error?  I may need to tweak something on the site.
  3. Right now it looks like you're operating under a trial membership.  If you go to "My Account > My Membership" in the top right corner of the site you should be able to upgrade your membership to the brewer level.  From there, you'll get a link to all of the paperwork, and our membership director lagerdan will be in touch about the paperwork, membership card, etc.  Of course, you should always feel free to ask any of us anything as well!

Oh... my... god.  Why haven't we done this?    http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...

Thanks Lucas,

Thanks Lucas,

When I go to your link I can see the forum but at the top it says 'You are not allowed to post new content in the forum.'.

I signed up and paid for a trial right before Cerveza de Mayo.. I didnt get any info on paperwork. It wants me to pay again to get brewer/apprentice level access. I've only brewed once in the brewhouse so far.

This was a bug on my part, I

This was a bug on my part, I apoligise.  We recently made some changes to how the site sees trials so that we could track things better for Cinco and while I had fixed the permissions on the forums, I forgot to fix the permission on the container which holds the two forums.  This should now be fixed.

With regard to the brewer level membership, what I would do is wait until your trial is about to end and then go ahead and sign up for a full brewer level membership.  When moving to brewer level we ask that people do three supervised brews before we give you the door code to make sure you know all of the safety info, but any brews that you do while you're in the trial will count towards that amount.

Once you do make the transition from trial to brewer, Dan will send you all of the relevant paperwork.  The only real difference between the trial / apprentice memberships and the brewer is the 24/7 access to the brewhouse.  If you do end up wanting to get that before the end of your trial, feel free to move up to brewer, but I would personally just wait.  I hope this helped answer your questions, if not let me know.  Thanks!

Just as note, I supervised

Just as note, I supervised Matt's first brew at the brewhouse. As soon as you get the paperwork Matt, I'll sign the first spot.
