Does anyone have any they don't need? I want to bottle on Friday and need about 50 12oz or bigger? Or does anyone know of any bars near the brew house that would give the empties out?

Empty Bottles
There is a bunch under the bottling tbale and in boxes in the brewhouse. They need to be stripped and cleaned. I am not sure how many there are, I would think less than 50 but more than 20...
I threw out the bottles when I cleaned up the brew house on Friday. They were covered in FRP dust and dirt and the space was needed under the table for items that came down from the loft.

We need to have some sort of policy re: empty bottles. If we want to try and capture empties and "recycle" them for use by club members, great. But let's have a place for the bottles and a policy of rinsing them before putting them in their spot. Bottles not rinsed and put "away" should be trashed.
If we're not going to have a formal policy re: empty bottles, I think they should be tossed so they don't clutter up the brewhouse.

Maybe we just use one of the extra plastic trash cans we have or we get a cheap plastic bin from Wal-mart or the like to hold them and keep them under the bottling station? Or maybe we can fit them into James' plan for the other wall somewhere.
I just think something plastic (and preferably not too deep) so that we don't have really ganky plastic bottles at the bottom with a bunch of melting cardboard.

I don't see a problem with keeping empty bottles at the bottling table, as long as they're clean and stored neatly. The plastic bin idea would work, as it can fit under the table.
If anyone has any empty bottles they don't need we can certainly use them this Saturday for our barrel emptying endeavor. I am sure lots of people will want to bottle and we will be at a shortage of bottles. So if you have any that you can drop off at the brewhouse this week please let me know. Also if you have any in the brewhouse stashed somewhere that we can use let me know too. Thanks.
the bottles in the plastic bins are mine - one under the bottling table, one outside. i have been saving those for the bottling event. please do not take those!
there are more bottles in the sun room of the apartment if someone wants those. but they sure need cleaning

Just an FYI, this is an old thread that Kyle bumped. I have had two people text me about throwing out bottles. I assure you that I have not recently.
clarified with Ken and edited accordingly. my fault i missed the dates of responses after reading backwards from Kyle's post. being i have some 40 gallons of beer floating around, i shit a brick when i thought the bottles ive been collecting for this purpose were tossed. sorry i freaked.
