At BJCP class last night, James said we are low on club Chaos business cards. These are two good resources for printing, both of which I have used. They are cheap and fast. I've provided the links below. I think Steven has the art files for the cards... right? You can just direct upload online, or if you'd like me to handle the upload and order placing just let me know. Cheers, Nanc
Best Deal:
QTY 1,000 cards (color 2 sided) for about $34 (plus tax and shipping)
M13 (local, Schaumburg, they have pick-up for quick turn-arounds too)

QTY 500 cards (color 2 sided) for about $50 (plus $12 for shipping)
VistaPrint (online only)

The issue is I believe we are waiting for a design with the updated addtess. If someone could post the old adobe file, we can update it hand have more printed.
i'm redesigning the business card, should have something ready in a week (work in progress below.)
really wanted to incorporate a photo of the new space, but it's not very photogenic. i think showing carboys lined up is a cool way of suggesting many people brew at our space, but i need to take a better picture of cleaner beers in secondary. the barrel with our logo came out pretty nice.
Can we say "Chicago's only community space for home brewers"?
think PS-1 has a brewing facility for members.
Great job Steven. The card looks amazing
"Give a man a beer, and he will waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he will waste a lifetime!" Bill Owen
You are correct about PS1. You could say something like "Chicago's only dedicated space" or something like that.
Oh... my... god. Why haven't we done this? http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...
Looks great, Steven!
What's PS1?
Pumping Station: One. They're a hacker space (communal space like CHAOS, but for making just about anything) here in Chicago on Elston. http://www.pumpingstationone.com/

Steven - Thanks for your hard work, it looks great!
Thanks for the feedback, I'm getting happy with it. Lucas, dedicated sounds right. Since we were first to market with this, I want to be a little braggy about it.
Should be pretty sweet when I reshoot the fermentors (thinking of backlighting them to bring out the purty colors.) The barrel is one of ours from the old place, but the brick wall is actually Iggi's neighbors wall outside, prolly redo that using our new white walls.
Anyhoo, I have been slow to respond to design requests, but I am developing a new set of imagery that can be repurposed for other CHAOS branding and promotional efforts. Once we get a complete brew station looking nice, I really want an image of a couple of brohs brewin shootin the breeze (maybe a brohette in the mix?)
I'll get to the partner sign next...............
I think those look awesome Steven! If you want I have several empty carboys right now if you want to stage something we can do that. Doubtful that they'll get used much anytime soon.

Thanks Lucas, I think I can make do with carboys we have in the ferm room. I'm brewing tomorrow afternoon and plan to have my girlfriend help photograph stuff. I guess if the snooty art director in me gets artsy fartsy, we'll move beers into clean secondory containers, but I hope I don't have to go there.
If anyone does product photography, please feel free to stop by tomorrow around 12-2pm.
Getting there...
We cool on copy? (Always proofread my work, trust me)
When we pick a print vendor, I just need to download their template file and set up the high res version for upload.
Steven,
What would the back of these look like? Same as now (i.e., list of member levels)?
Steven,
What would the back of these look like? Same as now (i.e., list of member levels)?
hey Jim, the design above shows both front (carboys) and back (barrel).
The old card with member level info was too wordy and hard to read. My sense is we're better off just outling the top level benefits of the club, and the trial offer is the perfect lure for prospective members.
BTW, I'm hoping we get a different printer. The previous printer screwed up and the cards were all cut off center.
Understood, Steven.
I can definitely look for another printer but I bet it was just a snafu. We had used them before with no problem and they're dirt cheap.
is it ready to go? Is all you need the company's template?
Hey Steven, What font are you using for the business card?
Also, the start of this thread has two printer contacts that I've both used for business cards, if that's helpful.
Cheers, Nanc
The font is Titillium, believe it is free on Font Squirrel. It comes in lots of weights, and there is a web version. I've been dog'n on the web design update Lucas inquired about, but Titllium will probably be used.
This sounds like a perfectly awesome deal:
QTY 1,000 cards (color 2 sided) for about $34 (plus tax and shipping)
M13 (local, Schaumburg, they have pick-up for quick turn-arounds too)

I like the local part too (easier to take action if they screw up.)
Jim, failure is not an option :p
Yeah, they are good, cheap, and fast... Usually you can only get 2 out of 3 of those. I haven't had any problems with them, but I do usually call them after I upload a file and talk to one of the guys to make it a bit personal and check that they have everything they need from me. It makes me more comfortable to have a bit of human contact, rather than posting my files into the internet void.
Thanks for the font tip. I will update that window deal to match your typeface.
Nanc
Okay, I just created a CHAOS account with M13 on their web-site. I don't see a spot where I can automatically add our CC info. So, Steven, I'll send you the login via text and/or e-mail and you can log in and work your magic. Let me know when it's all 100% ready to go and I'll log in, submit the order, and pay. Altenrately (as always) you can pay and get reimbursed.
hey Jim,
I would rather have the club pay for this directly. I just started an order and uploaded the files, but I'm not sure I can save the order in progress. I'll just leave my transaction unfinished, and you can try to log in and set up the billing info.
I'll email you the front and back files in case you need to restart the process. It's really easy. I ordered the following specs:
Order Information Edit
Got it. I'll try to do it now....and hope I don't fail. ;-P
Shoot me the files when you get a chance.
Steven, may I have the graphics files to upload? Your link has expired.
Jim, I sent the files to your Gmail account. I just re-sent them. I'm leary of this site compressing my jpeg upload, so use the files attached to the email.
Thanks, Steven. Never got 'em at my GMail account but I got 'em at my Hotmail account.
Will put in an order now.
Order placed, people, FYI.
Any ideas on what other stuff we can get? Stickers? Other trinkets/swag?
Hey, guys, these should have arrived at the brewhouse by now. Can someone confirm? I haven't been there in a while...
