Just dropped off three cases of homebrew tht Daniel wanted the club to have. I left it across from the fridge. He also left several buckets of grain that I stacked up at the front of the storage spaces. I wil leave it up to the club what they want to do with it. If you want me to get rid of it or the buckets, let me know.
Also, someone took my blow off from my storage space. Put it back or ask me. I don't really want to rip it out of your carboy while your beer is fermenting, but I will.
I think maybe we should use the grain to brew house beers for the keezer.
Rich...your blow-off tube or cap & tube?
Kyle, great idea for use of Dan's grain.
It was a tube connected to an airlock
Ill take the grain and any other ingredients for club beers. Do we know what it is and how much? I have a storage spot closest to the garage door, if someone can put it up there, thatd be great.
It is labeled for the most part I think. I know there was Vienna, Aciduated, Roasted Barley, UK 2-Row and American and a few others I can't remember. Most are half full at most, and mostly specialty grain.
There is also grain in the metal trash cans back there that is for club use. Its all two row. Maybe a sack or two last I checked.
I could use the buckets
i purchased his keg. we can use that for keezer brew if needed. i think we need to drink the contents first, tho.
...igz...
Oh no, really Iggy, we HAVE to drink it....the horror.
The emperor is not as forgiving as i am
The one in the keezer is one of his that I am using to carb a beer. I think there is another one of his next to it with a sour in it.
Oh oh. Matt was cleaning and replacing the lines in the keezer today and we came across one of Rusty's kegs in there and put it on a tap.
The emperor is not as forgiving as i am
The one that said "do not tap"? I certainly hope not.
If it said do not tap on masking tape then yes. It was in rusty's keg, and we figured it was his.
The emperor is not as forgiving as i am
That is extremely disappointing to say the least. Please take it off immediately.
Just to clarify, the cases of beer and the grain in the buckets are the only things that are for the club. Any other equipment that is Daniel's belongs to Daniel and is being returned to him. Except for the keg that Iggi bought, that is.
Please do not tap kegs that are in the Keezer labeled DO NOT TAP. Not sure why this even needs to be said. Unless the person has put their beer on tap it shouldn't be assumed its up for grabs.
I took Josh's off as they had been tapped as well. If you had a beer in there that you were carbing, you may want to check it, because I didn't know what was supposed to be or not.
Apoloies for tapping your beer Rich. I saw Rusty's keg there and we assumed it was his and it was and that it was left for the club. An honest mistake. I will untap tomorrow if it hasn't been already. To that note, all kegs that were in there were are on tap. Rich's being the only one with a note on it.
I took inventory of the grain Daniel gave yesterday as well as CHAOS malt. All weights are approximate.
15# caramunich? - not labeled well
13# Roast barley
10.5 "bourbon+roast) (?)
10.5 Munich
4oz. UK roast barley
2.5 oz french oak
4 oz Belgian Special B
8 oz acid malt
1 lb black patent
CHAOS
12# Pils
~40# Canadian 2 row
23# Canadian 2 row - I crushed and mixed grist for club beer tomorrow, so this is gone.
Matt - No harm done, I took it back off and re-labeled it. One of my kegs has Daniels's beer in it which is why I was using his. I will tap next time I am in because I would like to empty it before I return his. I labeled Josh's as well, but if anyone else had beer in there and did not want it tapped, they should probably check, as I didn't see any other labels.
