As the Education Committee is gathering steam, one idea I had was to implement a Style Presentation at meetings and to volunteer to go first.  What I'm thinking is that we take a few minutes and someone will present a style, offer a little history, a little science, basic recipe makeup, special considerations, problems brewing the style encounters, and why they enjoy it, and then share at least one example, homebrew or commercial. There's something like 250+ Recognized styles so there is a lot to work with. Getting in to rare/lost/dying styles could be really cool because commercial examples will be non-existent so people would have to brew their example. Doing a style presentation would be on a volunteer basis, thought I'd toss out a poll to gauge interest.

If there is enough support I'll start next meeting with a presentation on one of my favorite styles, Munich Helles. In the future I might do Dampfbier, a barley ale brewed with wheat beer yeast.

Its a good idea. What some other cluds do is buy some commericial examples of the style for sampling. It make a world of difference to try the style while talking about it. Usually (1) 12oz beer can feed 3 people.

Awesome.  I will begin the series with a 5-7 or less bit on Munich Helles and provide some samples, at least one commercial example, maybe more, and possibly some of my Golden Eagle Helles as well.
