Well its approaching that ime of year again. Its about time to get our Fantasy football league set up. Please post here if you are interested. Include your name / email address you use to log into the yahoo fantasy league / Bottle you are contributing to the pot.
General rules will be the same as last year. 2qb draft, same point additions, more can be discussed prior to joining if necissary. The draft will be aug. 24th at 2:00 p.m. I would like to have it at the brewhouse I will set it up as an online draft but if everyone can make it we can toss around the idea of doing an old school draft board.
Buy in will be 1 large format bottle of a ligitamatly sought after beer. Everyone needs to be approxomatly equal on this in order to make sure everyone stays in year to year. If you need help obtaining a substantial item please reach out to me for help.
Priority will go to teams from last year. Please put down your name and Ill start some kind of waiting list.

I'm in again and think the brewhouse draft location would be great. My beer is TBD and would be great if we can have the bottles present at the draft.
Yes, All bottles must be collected at or before draft.
Totally in. Bottle TBD
I'm in!
Is "Fantasy Football" easy for someone who's never done it before (or doesn't really watch NFL)? This sounds like fun! But, I don't know how to do it..
In. E-mail: rrawlings3@gmail.com Bottle TBD
Jim, you're just the person we're looking for! LOL!
Actually, anyone can do fantasy football. The players are all ranked, so you can just choose the highest ranked player for their position.
Jim - Have you ever heard of poker? Its a cool game, I'd love to introduce you. :-)
Oh... my... god. Why haven't we done this? http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...
I'm not a stupid as I look...
At least I know I'd get fleeced at poker!
You can count me in, too! If we're nearing the draft and someone is dying to get in, I'll relinquish my spot. But, otherwise, I'd like to try!
I want in! Bottle TBD.
In! Jim last year was my 1st time and I placed 3rd...
I'm in. bottle TBD!
I am in! Bottle TBD. If I may put my two cents for Jim, Fantasy Football is just like making beer. Your players are the grain bill but every game/week is like using a strain of wild/bret yeast, you don't know what will happen in the end but it is always fun.
Okay, I'm in! Bottle TBD
Josh, could the league be increased to 12 teams so some of the new members can be included?
Jim, Ken, and Americo,
You are all in the league. I need your email addresses used for Yahoo fantasy sports. If you dont have one sign up for one.
Jim once you in I highly recomend that you participate in the secion called mock drafts.
Everyone else Im sending out league invites now.
How does everyone feel about doing the draft saturday 5:00 aug 23rd instead?
My email is ktownsel@ameritech.net
I'll be at Jimmy Buffett on the 23rd, so would prefer we keep it on the 24th if possible.
Saturday would be better for me. I can't be there on Sunday
Josh, when you say large format, does the beer have to come in a 750 bottle? Just picked up a bomber of Stone's Woot Stout 2.0 which I don't think you can get in Chicago. Can that be my entry?
Hot Dog!
My email is americoochoa@gmail.com
It is confirmed the draft will be at 5:00 cst ON AUG. 23rd
Everyone please start posting what your contribution will be to the pot. If everyone does not post by aug. 22nd the draft will be CANCELED. It will not be acceptable to say you will go get a bottle in the future.
If you cannot come up with anything please refer to the website and buy something asap.

A good average cost for something to get would be around $50.00.
probably Ommegang XV
I'm definitely still in and will buy something ASAP. I'll be in Michigan (Arbor Glen) for the next five days. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could get somewhere along the lake (196 or 31)? Otherwise, I'll go onto the my cellar list above next week and choose something.
Jamie,
Ommegang XV is readily available all over the chicago land area for >$20. This is not equal to what others are contributing. Please try again.
For those of you who want to get your bottles localy, talk to Eli or Pete. They have access to Maria's vast celler...
My bottle is a 2009 Firestone 13th Anniversary Ale.
I need help. Can someone help me choose an acceptable bottle?
My bottle will be a 2009 Lost Abbey Cuvee De Tomme.
Wow Jim bringing the HEAT
I can't take credit for it; I got help from Josh.
I guess in addition to learning fantasy football this is also good for learning coveted beers!
Thanks jim for reaching out and trying to make this leasgue a better one.
For anyone else on the fence please start contributing. If you need help let me know.
I just haven't had a chance to swing by Binny's. I'll have one by the end of this week.
Jeff,
Just to be clear you will most likly not be able to just swing by binnys and find something on the shelf of the same caliber that everyoine else has been putting up. We really wanna try and keep this league top notch. Maby if you go in and explain to the beer buyer at binnys theyll let you buy something from there cellar. Let us know how it goes.
I was at the Grand location on Friday and they have Bruery Sucre' Anniversary beer on the shelf. I would consider that as good or better than anything on here, even if it is readily available at the moment.
Since I will be moving soon I am looking to reduce the size of my cellar so as to not have to move so much with me. With that said I would be willing to sell some stuff from my cellar that I think would be perfect for this league at a very reasonable cost. If people are interested let me know and I can post some stuff up tonight.
Kyle, a beer-o-phile friend of mine wants to have a beer share but all I have is non-summer stuff like Bourbon County Stout. Please let me know whatever you're willing to part with and I may buy 2-3 for my friend's beer share (once people have taken their pick for this fantasy football draft).
I used Binny's Lincoln Park store last year and got that bottle of Leipziger Gose, which was a legit contribution and certainly on par with what's currently on this year's list.
That being said, Kyle I may be interested in taking a bottle off your hands. Just post what you have and I'll let you know.
Kyle, I'm interested
Kyle, I wanna pillage your cellar!
I will also be throwing a party before I leave at the brewhouse featuring some treats from my cellar. Details on that to come soon.
Since there has been a good amount of interest I will post up bottles and prices tonight. I will try to be as fair as possible on the prices and keep them as close to original cost as I can, but some were done in trades with money spent on shipping etc so most will be a bit over not by much of the original retail prices.
Okay, my contribution will be LambickX Kriek. Barreld in oak and chestnut in 2011, bottled in 2013 with only 9867 bottles.
Made a seperate post with some bottles for sale. I may add more depending how this goes.

There was a lot of interest for bottles on here yesterday when I mentioned this. If no one is feeling this list or isn't intersted anymore let me know so I can get these listed elsewhere and move them before I leave. Thanks.
Josh, would Kyle's bottles of '13 Founders Sweet Repute or '13 Against the Grain Bo and Luke be acceptable contributions to the league?
If so, Kyle, I'll take either one of those.
Ken and Josh deemed most of those unacceptable for the league and as a result of that and slow responses I flipped most of them on FB. I can and will post more tonight, but at this point will prob just go straight to FB with them as they are moving quicker.
Scaldis Premier de Nuits, 2011. Acceptable?

Thanks everyone who has updated.
Ken, Jamie, chuck, americo.. Lets get updated asap.
I will be getting my bottle this Friday from one of the list you suggested. Since the draft is a little over week I might be getting ahead of myself but I wanted to ask what where the active position, other than the two QB's, and how many bench spots are we allowed? Just wanted to start thinking about strategy for draft day.
