No. And a had a bike accident on the way to the brewhouse... Nothing serious. Just flew off my bike and just didn't really wanna deal with the water issue, so I just left.
There was zero water. No hot no cold. Nothing. Not even a trickle. Who was there last? Did we have water? Did someone shut it off? No clue. Was there for about30 mins then left after not being able to do anything.
I stopped by first thing in the morning for a couple things and found that the water line was shut off, right before the connection to the counterflow chiller. I shut it back off when I left: I thought someone told me at one point that the water should be shut off (along with the gas), and figured that if the person who was there before me had done so, I would just follow suit.
So this might be partly my fault, unless you checked that valve and it's a bigger problem.
I've never done that before unless that is a new rule. I'm not even sure I know where that vaule is so I probably didn't know where to look. If that is something we need to do from now on, we should snap a photo of that and post so people know what to look for. And like I said I didn't really have the energy to run around and figure out how to turn the water back on haven't had the bike accident on the way over to the brewhouse.
I was at the brew house early afternoon on Saturday and the water was on. SO, it must have been shut off sometime after that. Not sure why anyone would do that, as there is no rule about valving off the water before leaving. (That was at the old brew house and is not neccessary at the current location.)
Good to know: next time, I'll leave it on if I find it shut off to begin with.
And, if anyone else finds the water shutoff: there's a valve in the water line right before the counterflow chiller, just like the one used to turn on the chiller. If you have water in the bathroom but not in the brewhouse, that's probably why.
The reason the water valve has been getting shut off is cause there is a leak from the connection under the sink. It leaks pretty bad so people have been shutting it off when they leave. It appears we need a new piece of tubing and clamp to sovle the problem as potentially a new plastic splitter.
Just brewed with new member Stephen, the water was turned off by the tankless water heater as well as by the chiller. Turned them on to brew but turned them off again, just like Kyle said because of the leak.

I don't know anything about water being turned off by heater. I was only turning it off by the chiller. Chuck I wouldn't call an under sink leak an emergency. I tried tightening clamp but it didnt solve issue. Forgot to post it up here till I read about Nancy not being able to get water on.
I dropped by the brewhouse to check on the water issue. The water was on and there was a steady trickle comming from under the table. Some more of the older white hose had failed. This was pretty obvious, because it was buldging. I undid the two clamps, cut a piece of the replacement black hose that was in the materials "closet." I then put the clamps on the hose and replaced it under the table.
This fix took 10-15 min. I used two tools that were at the brewhouse, the hose that was there, and the two existing clamps. Seriously, anyone could have done this. This is a shared space. If you don't feel comfortable replacing something, that's fine, but you can do your best to diagnose / take a picture.
Someone turned the water off because of the leak, and not right at the table, but our main. Any main (gas / electrical / water) should not be shut off without a posting here. I understand someone wanting to prevent a leak, that's smart. But by posting here, we would have prevented someone else from not being able to bottle.
Further, saying that something doesn't work is of minimal utility to getting it working again without specifics. If something (gas / water/ hot water / electric / internet / heat / cooling / what the f ever) doesn't work, start at the begining and work your way forward to eliminate as many points of failure as possible. That way, even if you can't fix it, whoever is going to do it can go right to the problem. Diagnosing these problems is mainly just logic and very limited "handyness." Before I joined CHAOS I hadn't done very much water / electric and I'd never touched a gas line. Everyone here is smart enough to give it a go, and even if you can't get it you can post what you tried.
Hear! Hear! Mark. If you have to shut off a vavle that normally does not have to be shut off, thats an emergency! This also should have been reported immediately! There is no exuse for that! Everybody has a smart phone and we have wifi for christ sakes!
People need to chill out. It was like that for 2 days. Ken was there and saw the issue as well if you guys want to point fingers. I forgot to post it was leaking when I noticed it. I am sure there were 10-15 other people that happened by the brewhouse during that time and either were too lazy to notice the drip or to lazy to fix or post the issue on here.
This is also a job for me/Joe/Ken who are going to write up signage, &c. for the brewhouse. Some of the info gets lost in the shuffle. e.g., at the last brewhouse we *DID* turn off gas at the main valve so I kept doing it at the new brewhouse.
I'll ask Joe and Ken if they have time to meet and get some of the signage up to avoid this kind of stuff.
Did you figure out the water problem, nancy?
No. And a had a bike accident on the way to the brewhouse... Nothing serious. Just flew off my bike and just didn't really wanna deal with the water issue, so I just left.
Well, it could be the low pressure issue, where the upstairs tentants using a shower or someone shut off one of the valves...

The only water valve that should be shut off is the one for the exuast water to the chiller!
Also, the only gas valves that need to be shut off are the ones to each burner, not the main!

So we had a BrewHaus emergency and no one thought to alert the club via this site or pm the board or try to fix it?

Thanks for fixing it Mark!

Something on the sink is leaking again
Quick, turn off the water! (I'm kidding, of course, don't turn off the water.)
