Tuesday brewsday fresh hop beer

Hi all, There was talk earlier on a different forum about doing a fresh/wet hop beer for harvest fest at next weeks Tuesday brewsday.

I have a friend in Yakima that can overnight us some fresh picked hops from the valley. He said he could get anything. Does anyone have ideas for a recipe or preferences on hops?

I have not either and

I have not either and actually cant make it to brew, but I thought it would be fun if people were into it. Its a bit expensive, about $35 for shipping and we would need 4-5lbs of hops. So it could cost as much as $100. I am working out the cost of the hops with the guys, they dont normally sell wet hops.

If we do the beer Tuesday night they would pick them Monday and we would get whatever they are picking, which right now is cascade and centennial. But he says there are 5 farms they are picking from and does not know which one will be ready that morning.

So if you think there is some money available for this and people would be into it than lets do it.

We have been very thrifty

We have been very thrifty with Tuesday Brewsday and I think this is an opportunity many in the club would enjoy.  It's within budget as well.

I don't think that's a good

I don't think that's a good use of the budget. We can get hops to last for a year for $100. We also need to purchase grain soon.

Discuss tonight at the

Discuss tonight at the meeting if you want to allocate funds for it and let me know. I don't have a firm number yet but you could give me a not to exceed and of course I will negotiate for as cheap as possible.

If there doesn't seem to be the interest for Tuesday brews day maybe Jamie or someone wants to do a beer at open house next Saturday?

If we decided to do it I need an address to ship to as well.

I am assuming at this point

I am assuming at this point there is not the interest to make this happen. We can always try again next year.
