Howdy everybody.
Yep, it's been awhile. Oh, you know, life and such. Anyway...need to get back to brewing.
1) I think I need to re-up my paperwork (though, my dues I think are still good). What paperwork do I need to sign...would like to brew Saturday if I can.
2) Recipe help - So I kind of want to make a version of Fort George 3-way. But a bit more sessionable. suggestions on a 5 gallon version. I know the base is 2 row and mosiac, citra and chinook. from this post - http://newschoolbeer.com/2014/06/fort-george-boneyard-block-15-3-way-ipa...
3) Anybody want to do a brews/bottleshare/board game night? I have a larger game collection, happy to share, get a few games going. If I brew tomorrow...I'll have a few games with me.
Do something like this:
1.050 OG
35IBU (Chinoock at 60 min)
4-6oz of citra, moasic and chinoock. Throw in at flame out and use the chiller to whirlpool for 20 min. by putting the out hose back into the kettle. Run at full speed for whirlpool (it doesent really whirlpool but it is close)
Grain
80% two row
10% C20
10% Wheat
Mash at 150-152
Use 1056 or any American ale yeasts. Omega has a fun new one that is supposed to bring out the fruitness in the hops.
Throw in 2g of gypsum and 2g of CaCl if you want into the mash and half that into the boil.
Herb...welcome back!
I am down for setting up a game night, can't make it tomorrow but definitely in the future...let me know what you are thinking.
What kind of games are we talking?
I'm down
So, about that sake...
Oh man, I'm in for game night! Let's get something on the calendar!
Settlers?
I've only played it once (poorly), but I'm in.
What's Settlers?
Settlers of Catan. It's a popular board game.
I can't next week...but maybe the following? How do I get something on the calendar?
And I'm going to admit it, I have just a little board game snobbery. So I don't play Settlers. I know, I know. I'm that guy. But...others can totally play it and have a good time. I just think the mechanics are meh. Over a beer I'll be more than happy to elaborate on this topic. or not.
Games I have that can bring...
Trains, Ticket to Ride, Dominon, Lords of Waterdeep, Splendor, Village, Avalon, 7 Wonders, Skull & Roses, Love Letter, Cash & Guns, Nations, Terra Mystica, Puetro Rico, King of Tokyo, Pandemic, Star Wars Minatures, Quantum, Blueprints, Carcassone....
OK, now I'm just name dropping and noboby likes that. I can bring a bunch and can teach games that fit your interest level. Range for heavy strategy to quick easy fun.
I think anyone can add an event to the calendar, but I could be wrong. In any case, why don't you start a new thread for a gaming night, and propose some dates that work for you. The people who want to come might not be following this thread, so it'll be easier to get people on board and find a date that works.
I'm totally in for a game night. Might have to leave early depending on what time it starts because of work but I'm in...

So, I guess I'm not bringing my Chutes and Ladders and Hungry-Hungry Hippos then.
I'll start a new theard for Board Game night. Right now, Oct 9th looks open. A Thursday night. Before I punch it in...do it at the brewshouse and make it a bottle share or at a venue?
If we do the brewhouse, I'm so excited I'll even bring the pizza. Yep, I'm kind of a becominga board game nerd like that.
I love hanging out at the brewhouse, but there's not much table space. I suppose it'll depend on how many people are interested: if it's a small handful, we can play at the bar. If it's a bigger group, we'll probably want to go somewhere that we can have multiple tables for smaller groups.
We could bring in some folding tables too if there are going to be enough people.
What? No Go?!?
I have alot of board games too im in. Cards against humanity!!
Howdy everybody... moving this to a new thread and getting a night set up. Sorry...got trapped in a work void for a week (or two) there.
Game on!
