We are putting the final call out for volunteers for the 2014 Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beers! This year's event will be held on November 14 and 15 at the UIC Forum, 725 W Roosevelt Road, Chicago, IL. We are excited that this year we have expanded to 3 sessions over 2 days. That means we need you more than ever! We have several opportunities for you to volunteer with FoBAB this year. Listed below are the shifts, duties and requirements for each day. Also, for volunteering, you will be able to attend a session as well. As we are offering this as a benefit, we will require that you work the shift you are required to work in its entirety and perform all duties as assigned. If we see that you are not fulfilling your role, you will be asked to leave and forfeit your ticket to the event. We want this to be as an enjoyable experience for both our guests and your fellow volunteers. Thanks chuck maybe this will be my avenue to finally attend event as I can never remember to get a ticket.
Highly recommend volunteering for Fobab (or actually beer events in general).
I'm gonna be double heading this event if I can get a volunteer slot.
Formatting Chuck!!! Formatting!!! I emailed Heather already though :)
Thanks for posting.
When are you guys volunteering? II'ds like to do the am session for free entry into the pm session...
I haven't actually receieved my assignment yet. I volunteered for Thursday night setup and Sunday monring cleanup.
Conrad, my phone sucks...
Thanks for posting and passing this on, Chuck! Do we really have to go to 2 training sessions?
I think you have to go to 1 training session. Fobab are sticklers about making sure the volunteers take tickets for the each beer poured.
I sent off an email and haven't heard back.
They contacted us today and we are scheduled for Friday night work. No details on what training yet.

See you guys there. I am scheduled to work Thursday and am FoBaB'ing Friday and Saturday.
I is gon' be wasted.
I will be voulenteering by stewarding the competition during the day on Friday. I think I would be attending Friday evening. What sessions are people attending?
Heather never got back to me! Is it safe to say I'm not volunteering?
Ditto John, I had no response from her either.
Seems they are having some trouble scheduling.
Everyone wants to pour Friday or Saturday morning, then drink, not enough want to do the setup or cleanup.
Give it sometime.
Thanks for all the updates! I'm attending on Friday and cleaning up on Sunday. Going to the revolution training. Who wants to hang Friday? Nancy, Boollish?
Sure thing John, I'll see you there. I am volunteering all day Thursday, and afternoon session Saturday. I will be drinking Friday and Saturday nights (and probably at other times too.)
John, my wife and I will be there Friday night so we can hang!
That's what I'm talking about! We're going to have such a fun time!
My friend Bill and I will be attending Saturday night, if anyone wants to connect, let me know, we can share cell phone numbers and meet up.

We are working Friday night so I think that puts us in attendance on Saturday night. We are attending the lyons training session.
I am friends with Heather who is managing the volunteers for FoBAB and she told me this morning they are still in need of about 100 more people to help out in various shifts for Friday and Saturday night. If any of you have interest in attending FoBAB for free and picking up a shift to work, please email her today heather@illinoisbeer.com
I'm volunteering for the Saturday am session. Anyone else going to the pm session, lets meet up!
I'll be at the Saturday PM session.
Pouring for Saturday PM.
We will attend saturday night!
I'm not going to be able to volunteer or attend FOBAB this year, last minute work assignment. I already told Heather. Have fun!
