So we received this request - it sounds like a great oppertunity to take our beer education mission to non-members. Maybe start at the brewhouse for a quick 30 min tour and education, followed by a real brewery or two ending in some place like blue frog? I'd be more than happy to co-coordinate, but I'd like to see 3-5 people total so we have a ratio of 1:10.
The request:
I am a professor of geography at UMass-Amherst. Our conference for
geographers, AAG, is in April in Chicago. About 10000 geographers will
descend on the city and we love beer. Each year, I and two colleagues
organize a beer tour of the city in which the conference is being held.
Last year, we were in Tampa and it was a roaring success. So, I have a
question: Would any of your members like to lead about 30-50 geographers
who love beer on a tour of breweries, pubs, and etc in Chicago. There
would be some sort of remuneration, but definitely beers on us. We get a
bus to take us around and will be based out of the Hyatt Regency downtown.
Feel free to say "No" or "Sounds great."
I would love to help out!
Sounds like a blast. April is a ways away, but sounds like a fun experience. Might also be fun to engage Bruce from the Chicago Beer Experience and see if we can get a potential docent to fill in history of Chicago bits from brewery to brewery. I'd love to coordinate or help out.
Sounds great.
I'd be in to help out on the weekend.
Yes. I am interested in coordinating
I would like to help out as well.
Sounds good to me.

Where we at on this? I think I saw an e-mail from the guy (sent to contact@chaosbrewclub.net) trying to follow up on this.
Jim, did they provide a date and time?
I scheduled a call with Toby today - I got the follow up. Thanks!
Awesome! Let me know when it is; I might be able to help out.
If needed I can give you the contact information for Rick Julien who owns the Brews Cruise Chicago if they want to go to actual breweries across Chicago.
I can also give your contact information for Kevin Salvi who owns the Brew Bus Chicago, but the bus quality is significantly higher with Rick.
