Fucking iPad. Sorry for the double message. I was actually waiting to get all the info to put it in one long message. So the bus has one cooler and I can bring one. So I think we need two me coolers, if anyone can help out. Everyone BYOB, bottles or cans are ok. He will have garbage bags and I will buy bottled water and pretzels with the extra cash. The bus has music connections, so I'll make a playlist (perks of planning, suckas!). I hope you assholes like Disney music. Oh wait . . .

Sorry for any misspellings and not remembering some people's names. I know someone asked me to add another person at stout night, but I totally forgot their name. Can that someone please private message me to remind me? After that, I think I'm gonna cap it. We have more than enough money and could use the room for beer/coolers. The cost is $30 a person and I know the bus guys wants a deposit, but I'm still waiting for how much. So I'll give you guys the option of paying me through chase quick pay (john_gammal@yahoo.com) or bringing cash the day of. I know who's already paid me and will keep a master list.
Everyone, please make sure you're on the list and at this point, please don't cancel or not show up. Also, I'd really like to leave on time so don't be late. Real shit, you'll be delaying ALL OF US and will have to spend the next 11 hours getting yelled at for being a jerk. We may even not let you have any beer all day. And bring exact change if you're paying me the day of.
We have no special packages or deals at the breweries, but everyone is SUPER excited to host us, starting with the catalyst of this trip, Ed Nash! I'm so so so excited to spend the day with all of you and check out Michigan!!!!! Let me me know if you have any questions and I'll see you all soon!
Thanks for the nice words, everyone! We've had two cancellations, but should still be ok. If any new/current members see this and want to join in, here's your chance to be somebody. Just kidding. I'll update this thread when necessary. Thanks Chaos!
John - Great job putting this together, it's gonna be a blast. Your choice, but I think with this many people you should probably make a hard cut-off at some point where everyone who has committed is still obligated to pay even if they decide to cancel after that (or just make everyone pay you now). You shouldn't be fronting your own money for a deposit in my opinion, and you don't want a bunch of people flaking out at the last minute and thinking that is ok.
We potentially have two more cancelations (I'll know for sure tomorrow). I hate to say it, but I have to make this more official. As of now, everyone on this list is obligated to go or find a substitute. I'll need the money from everyone in two weeks (March 4th). If you don't do Chase quickpay I will hopefully see you at the brewhouse. I plan on coming late to the barrel speech tonight, to watch Josh roll his eyes at eveything the guy says (JUST KIDDING!)
I understand shit comes up and I'm confident we'll all work towards a fair solution that doesn't compromise the plan that everyone else agreed to. Thanks to all that have already paid and to eveyone keeping a healthy line of communication going.
Thanks a lot, Eli! Yes, we are. I can bring one and the bus has one. I think two more would be great, if you can swing it. Also, two of the cancellations are now able to make it. So we may only be down two, which is totally ok! Thanks everyone!
Hi everyone! In lue of a master spreadsheet, I just wanted to send a quick update of who is paid and good to go

Thanks to all that have paid! I plan on being at the general membership meeting Tuesday, so maybe I'll see some of you there. If you don't' bank with Chase, can you at least send me a message telling me that you're still on board and you can just bring the money the day of. Rich and Eli, it would be great if you could bring a cooler each. That gives us 4, which should be good. Thanks and I hope everyone has a reverent and joyous Casmir Pulaski day celebration tomorrow
Hi HomebrewHero and welcome to Chicago and Chaos! Sorry, the bus is all booked, but you're first on the list if anyone cancels. I'm glad you're interested in beer bus tours. Looks like you'll fit in just fine.
Thanks Johngammal , I love bus trips they are so much fun. I'd go on two a year , I hope to become as active as possible in the local homebrew community. I came from a very large club in the southwest, I considered those homebrewers my family, and hopefully the same will happen here.
Welcome Homebrew hero! You can have my spot on the bus. Some things came up and I will not be able to attend. I have not paid yet, so you can submit your payment for my spot. Hope you have fun!
Hi everyone. Someone already canceled and I offered the spot to HomebrewHero. Homebrew, Nancy is right, you can pay me tonight if you're coming to the general membership meeting. If not, as long as I know you're on board for sure, you can give me the money when I see you around the brew house. Or you can set up the Chasepay later in the week, like you mentioned in our PM. See how accommodating I am.
Nancy, someone else canceled and I offered the spot to Homebrew. Do you want to cancel as well, or were you just being nice and welcoming to our new friend?
CHAOS!!!! One more week till our big trip. So we've had two people have last minute things come up and I am officially opening up 2 spots to whoever wants them. Let me know as soon as you can (773-213-3456) and you have all the selling points. Thanks to all who have paid and I just sent out a bunch of PMs to make sure we have no more cancelations.
Two things I wanted to address. 1) Ed informed me that there is a beer fest the day of our trip from 5-9 in Benton Harbor. He'll still be able to meet us during our time at Arclight, but he just threw it out there. It's $35 in advance and $40 day of. Here are the details:
Admission Includes:
Festival admittance
Festival pint glass
Twelve (12) samples of your choice of festival brews
I don't think it's the best deal and will make this trip a but pricey, but just wanted to hear your feedback. We don't have any locked down financial obligations set up so we could do it, but I'm not really down.
2) We weren't really sure if it was going be a bottle share or not on the bus, so I say do whatever you want. I have met some of the most generous people at Chaos and something tells me it's going to be a pretty robust bottle share. But please feel no obligation to participate or bust out your barrel aged, 18K gold dry hopped , Alchemist/Russian River collaboration. But I will be buying plastic tasting glasses for all who bring shareables.
That's all. So hopefully we get those 2 spots sold and our pretzel budget is unaffected. Good luck getting Dark Lord tickets tomorrow and have a great weekend!!!!!
I agree with John, not Brock or Pete, even though I think it is the same thing. I think a festival would probably be a mess. Besides, it looks like I am going to be drinking Pete and Josh's beer now, so why waste the money?
Hey guys I'l be in AZ so I'll be bringing some beers back, about 2 growlers , and maybe a bottles. What styles do you guys perfer. I'm going to avoid bringing any IPA's just because they are everywhere.
HomeBrew, you are truly living up to your name. I'm a stout man, myself. Ok, Pete, you have one of the spots. You can just give me the money the day of. Thanks! Only one spot left, Chaos!
Oh come on John! You know it wouldn't be a CHAOS function without a bottle share. I'll bring some Marz goodness. Also the cooler.
I would love to do the beer fest, but not on this trip. Too much awesomeness going on already.
Hi Chaos!!! I can't believe the trip is tomorrow. We had some late and welcomed additions, so the total group is 32. Nobody that canceled has to pay anything, but I appreciate the offers. I have water, ice, tasting cups, and some pretzels. I'll bring a cooler and Eli and Rich will do the same. Eli had a great idea of having a raffle on the bus ride. So if you have anything you'd like to contribute, feel free to bring it and we can have some fun on the trip. NO OBLIGATION, SERIOUSLY! It's a last minute idea we thought we'd throw out there. So I'll see everyone by 10:45am tomorrow at Chaos, bus leaves 11am sharp!
Thanks for all the nice words, guys. I had SO MUCH fun and I thank each and every one of you for making it so! I'm thinking our next one will be in September, but I'll make sure you all hear about well in advance.
Nikki and I had an absolutely incredible time! Thank you so much for organizing everything, and keeping everything in check throughout the trip! We cannot wait for the next one!
Thanks!
Chris
Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.
What I remember of the trip was fucking awesome! Great job, John! You asking me about the IPA at Livery is the last thing I remember before Pete driving me home from the brew house......
Hi Chaos! Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you all. So I was able to talk to all three breweries and here's the plan for Saturday, March 21st:
Leave Chaos (2417 W Hubbard) at 11am. I'd be great if everyone can be there by 10:45am. Our first stop will be Arclight Brewing (544 North Main Street, Watervliet, MI 49098) and I'm thinking we'll stay there until 4ish. Then from there we'll head to The Livery (190 5th Street, Benton Harbor, MI 49022) and stay there till 6ish. And our final stop will be Tapistry Brewery (4236 Lake Street, Bridgman, MI 49106) and we'll leave there around 8ish to be back at Chaos by 10pm.
Awesome, we cannot wait!
Thanks! John!

Can't wait! Anyone who isn't at the brewhouse at 10:45 is buying a round for the rest of us.
Thank you for setting this up John.

Good job John! This is gonna be a great trip. Are you still in need of coolers for the bus ride?
Eli
Thanks a lot, Eli! Yes, we are. I can bring one and the bus has one. I think two more would be great, if you can swing it. Also, two of the cancellations are now able to make it. So we may only be down two, which is totally ok! Thanks everyone!

John i could bring a cooler as well. Let me know.

I'm brand new to chicago , and to this club. So is there any extra seats on this bus? If so I would like to join in.
Just point me where to pay , and I will be there. I love bus beer trips.

Thanks , I'm trying to arrange the paymen right now, how ever I do not have chase quick pay so I had to sign up for it?
I beleieve John is going to the members meeting tonight, at Headquarters, so if you come to that you can pay him directly.
Hi everyone. Someone already canceled and I offered the spot to HomebrewHero. Homebrew, Nancy is right, you can pay me tonight if you're coming to the general membership meeting. I'll be paying him as soon as my chase quick pay account gets ready. I'm traveling for work.

I vote we stick with the original plan
I agree with Brock and also I'll take one of the vacant spots
"Give a man a beer, and he will waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he will waste a lifetime!" Bill Owen
We'll probably need the last extra spot to store all of the whales im bringing :)
Stick to the plan vote.
I'm down with the bottle share.
I agree with John, not Brock or Pete, even though I think it is the same thing. I think a festival would probably be a mess. Besides, it looks like I am going to be drinking Pete and Josh's beer now, so why waste the money?

HOmebrewHere, Ive been on a rocky mountain oyster beer kick. Let me know if you find any in AZ :)
Yeah, the festival seems a bit much, let's stick with the three breweries.
I also agree with the bottle share. Like Rich, I'm more than happy to drink everyone else's beer, so make sure you guys bring the good stuff!
HomeBrew, you are truly living up to your name. I'm a stout man, myself. Ok, Pete, you have one of the spots. You can just give me the money the day of. Thanks! Only one spot left, Chaos!
I hope they have this on tap when I am there. They have some great beers.

Also are there any raffle tickets at the brew house ?
You're right, I don't know what I was thinking, Eli. Not sure if there are raffle tickets. Want me to grab some?
If there are raffle tickets, they would be behind the bar.
So we are still meeting at chaos right?
"Give a man a beer, and he will waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he will waste a lifetime!" Bill Owen
Yup, pick up and drop off at Chaos.
we've had another cancellation. so now we have 2, count them, 2 open spots!

Hey John, I'm still at The Livery, can you come back and get me? Great Job putting this together, it was a blast.
What I remember of the trip was fucking awesome! Great job, John! You asking me about the IPA at Livery is the last thing I remember before Pete driving me home from the brew house......
Jeff- Your dignity is here with me, over in the corner with a heap of broken plastic. Still laughing about that. Drop that!
