Hi Chaos, how have you been!!!! I'm starting to plan the next Chaos brewery road trip. I just emailed my guy and asked for availabilty on Saturday 9/19 or Saturday 9/26. I was thinking of finding 3 breweries in the Madison area, pick up from Chaos at 11am, drop off at 10pm. It was $30 last time and I'm hoping it will stay around that. It's an old school bus and the $30 is just for the round trip ride. We can bring our own beers on the bus andd last time was a blast. I will be finding a way to collect the money 2 weeks before the ride or you will not have a seat, just cause it got kinda crazy when I waited to collect the money the day of. The buses hold 34--44, depending on the bus. So please start voting on the Saturday that works best for people. If you could please do this by Friday so I can start the planning. Just the voting, you won't have to commit to the trip until I set the date. Talk to you all soon!
John
either date works for me as of now.
Sounds like a good time!
I'm game for either date. For what it's worth the Goose Island Block Party is on 9/19 (and 18th).
I'm good for the 26th, I think. Definitely not the 19th.
The 26th here as well
The emperor is not as forgiving as i am
26th for me.
I'm good for either date

Oh man, I'm so excited—the Michigan trip was a blast!
I'm in for either weekend
26th for me, can't do the 19th.
I change my vote to the 26th, I just saw Zwanse Day is the 19th for whoever is interested in that ill probly be going.
26th!
What's Zwanse Day?
It's when Cantillion releases a one-off lambic. They send probably less than 50 allotments out total, around the world. West Lakeview is perennially on the list, so here in Chicago, we're pretty lucky if you can snag some.
Really looking forward to trying some at the brew house!!
Any of the dates works for me
26th
Dunno if I can make it for sure yet, but definitely shouldn't schedule this on Zwanze/Goose Island party day.
Hi Chaos. That's right, I know how to spell your name. Anywho, I have confirmed the bus and we are good to go for Saturday September 26th!!!!!! It will look a lot like the last trip. Pick up at 11am and drop off at 10pm from Choas (ha ha, got ya). The bus holds 38 and is $775 with no tip. There was some space in the middle of the bus for coolers, so we will only hold 4 seats open for additional coolers. The cost will be $30 and that will give us $1,020. That leaves me with $45 for cups, water, snacks and a $200 tip for the driver, Brian, who was awesome last time.
The $30 is just for the ride and water/snacks so BYOB, bottles or cans are ok. We will be going to Madison and I have an idea of the breweries, but will detail them in the coming week. I am open to suggestions, but we will visit 3 breweries total and I'll make the final call by next week.
This is a Chaos party, so I am just leaving it open to Chaos members of all levels and their partners. Simply respond on this thread and I will hold a spot for you and whoever you mention in those parameters. The first 34 people to respond are in. Casey and I are in, if you're counting. After that, I will start a waiting list. To lock in your spot, you need to pay me by Friday, September 18th. You can pay me using Chase quickpay or paypay (john_gammal@yahoo.com). If you paypal me, do it as a gift or something, so I don't eat a fee. Conrad and I also used Square (I think) which was really easy and free. I'll also take good old cash and would rather no one paid a fee to anyone. Fuck those guys, we can work it out and we have over a month. On Saturday, September 19th I will offer the unpaid seats to the waiting list people, then friends outside Chaos. I need to do it this way to not screw over the rest of the group. You understand, I'm sure.
Eli set up a raffle last time and it was a ton of fun. Please consider donating something to the raffle if you feel like it. Beer related and silly work great. We need coolers, as well. And don't be late, like I was last time. Seriously, I'm an asshole. Don't be me/an asshole. That's it. Hope you all can make it and let me know if there are any question!
Can't wait for round 2, Chaos!!!!
John
In and a +1!
I'm in plus Eli and Cisco

In with a possible +2
In.
In + 1
Depending on the route taken, stopping at Woodman's would be fun.
EDIT: didn't realize there's a bunch, not just the one in Kenosha. Not sure of selection at any of the others.
In +1. Thanks for setting this up again, and for acknowledging what an asshole you are.
I am in. Thanks.
In plus no one god i'm so alone
Sending you money right now just to be on the safe side!
Hi Chaos! Here is our itinerary; 11am, leave the brewhouse. 2-3:30 at Ale Asylum. This will be our longest visit because we will have a reserved area and will be able to eat there. 4-5 Karbed4. They only have one tour at 1pm, so we won't have an option to take one. They also don't take reservations, so we may have to split into smaller groups when there. The place holds 200, so we shouldn't have an issue. 5:30-6:30 House of Brews. I'm still reaching out to them and will let you know if we will have a reservation or not. Aside from Ale Asylum, the time line is loose. All these breweries are close to each other and we definitely will be on the road no later than 6:30 to come back home. The booking guy and I had a miscommunication, so this trip will end at 9pm at Chaos. We are 75% full so don't delay on reserving a spot and getting me the money. I'll send updates as it gets closer. Have a great day, Chaos!
We are confirmed with Ale Asylum and our tour guide is going to be their brewmaster Dean Coffey!
Awesome!
Unfortunately the perils of the new school year have begun and I'm going to need to back out of my spot. Totally bummed! Hope y'all have fun!
Alright Chaos, getting close to our big trip! We are confirmed with all the venues. Thanks to Ken and Jeff for their help. Thanks for the update, Kyle, sorry you can't make it. Thanks to all who have paid. Everyone still has till this Friday to pay me. So now we have 14 available seats. I think it's safe to start asking your friends. Please let me know when you have someone and get the money to me to lock your spot down. Chuck, you said maybe 2 spots plus yourself. Is this still correct? If you don't remember if you paid or not, send me a message. Let's get these seats taken, Chaos!!!!!
I would be interested in joining! I'm a "friend of Chaos" and know you through Bill & Julene.
Any spots left? If so i'm in.
Diane, any friend of Bill, Julene, and Chaos is a friend of mine. You're in! Adam, we have room for you too! If you could both try and pay me by tomorrow using the above instructions, I'd appreciate it. These two additions put us at 23 total. We still have 11 open spots. I'll send an update of who has paid me over the weekend. One more week!

Thanks Chuck. We had another drop out, so we have 13 open seats. I still have not collected from
Chuck, Chuck +1, Mark, Lauren, Josh's friend and Adam. All of you guys/ladies can give me the money the day of, it's not that much to collect. Just don't' drop out. Ask your friends and other brewing buddies and let's get these seats taken!!!!!
Sorry i was late. Just Quickpayed you the $$
I won't be on the bus but I'll be up that way for a wedding Friday night. Kelly and I will try and make it to Ale Asylum at least!
What's up, Chaos!!!! Our big trip is finally here! I have all the water, snacks, and cups at the brewhouse. I'll bring a trash bag and paper towels and we should be good to go. We have a smaller group, so I don't think the raffle will work this time around. Plus, it was kinda Eli's baby and I wouldn't do it justice. For all who haven't paid, please bring $30 cash tomorrow. I have one cooler there and they will have 2 iced coolers on the bus. I'll grab ice for my cooler on the way. I think 3 coolers should be good enough. Bring beer to enjoy on the bus and empty growlers to fill up at our stops. Last trip turned into a big ol' moving bottle share and I expect nothing less from Chaos. Don't be later than 10:50am and I'll see all of you lovely people tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Chaos! So I picked up my cooler, cups, the remainder of the snacks, and the rest of our reimbursement from the trip Saturday. I talked with my contact, Don, and he again apologized for the situation. As a final courtesy, he said the next brewery trip is on them! We'll have to cover gas and tip the driver, but it should be a lot cheaper than $30 a person. I told him it may not be until spring 2016 (since those buses aren't heated) and he said that was fine. In fairness, the people that committed and went on this trip will get first dibs on this future trip. To keep a record of who that is ... Jeff, Pete, Cisco, Josh, Annalyse, Josh's 'mystery' friend, Bill, Julie, Chuck, Jennifer, Ben, Ken, Mark, Lauren, Rich, Catherine, John, Casey, Diane, Adam, Zach, and Brock are the 22. Even though some of these people couldn't make it at the last minute, they all stepped up and paid and that will be rewarded. Jeff recommended making Reggies a partner with Chaos, which will get us a discount there. I will work on that. Josh had a great idea of planning a hoppy hour there in the near future. I'll get on that, as well. I feel they handled the situation extremely professionally and generously with the reimbursement of the whole trip, covering the Ubers to Pig Minds, and the future trip offer. We should totally try and give them some business, since that kind of customer service should be rewarded. Finally, I had a hell of a time and am glad it happened with you great folks. Way to make some lemonade, Chaos! I'll post something on this thread when preparations start for the next trip. Until then ...
Sounds like you guys had a fun time regardless.
Seriously, that fiasco was a goddamned blast. Thanks again for planning it all John! Can't wait for the next one!
So I totally forgot that Matt was going to ride back with us and had committed for the trip. He probably got screwed the most, out of anyone, so you're out 23 person next trip around, Matt!
Hi my bus tour buddies! It's that time for another trip and there's only room to improve right? In all seriousness, that last time was a blast and I can't wait to do it right! I spoke with Don and he said gas will be around $150. I feel we should up the tip from the normal $200 to $300. Then if I add $60 for water and pretzels and shit, we're at $510, or $15 a person. As I said earlier, the last group will get first dibs for this trip. Those people are:
Jeff, Pete, Cisco, Josh, Annalyse, Josh's 'mystery' friend, Bill, Julie, Chuck, Jennifer, Ben, Ken G, Mark, Lauren, Rich, Catherine, John, Casey, Diane, Adam, Zach, Matt O, and Brock.
That is 23 people and we can take a total of 34. The itinerary will be the same, to jog your memory:

So let's set a date first and then I'll remind everyone about the payment options. Saturday, March 19th and Saturday. April 9 work for the buses. I'm leaning towards 3/19/16 because there's a lot of shit going on in April. So that's my vote. Let's see how those days work with the core and we'll go from there.
Thanks,
John
March 19th works for me! Let's see if we actually make it to Wisconsin before planning any tips!
Can't do April 9, so March 19 sounds good to me!
March 19 is good for me, I'll have a plus 1 probably.
