November 7th is National Learn To Homebrew Day! Mike Struck will be hosting the Open Haus this day and Kyle Nordquist will be brewing.
Anyone and everyone is welcome but especially if you've ever wondered what this hobby is all about, come on out and not only check out CHAOS' awesome community/co-op brew space but learn to brew a batch of beer yourself!
It is absolutely free to just show up and watch; no RSVP or membership necessary! If you want to brew your own batch, email jim@chaosbrewclub.net and I will let you know what you need to do to brew that day yourself!
We'll be sampling some CHAOS-brewed home brews as well as commercial craft beer. Feel free to bring one of your own home brews to try or bring your favorite commercial craft beer!
The day's agenda will be:
9:00 a.m. - Kyle Nordquist starts brewing and talks about his 3-in-1 brew;
11:00 a.m. - Matt Omura and the kegging demo;
1:30 p.m. - Jeff Whelpley and evaluating beer demo;
3:00 p.m. - Kris Blouch with the extract brewing demo with bottling demo;
Mike Struck (9:30a), Bill Forgette (10:00a), and Brandon Kessler (4:00p) are also brewing and are willing to talk shop while brewing.
This is also a time to bring your non-brewing friends and family to see the process behind your beer they drink!
I think if I time this one properly and brew for Tuesday Brewsday in October, we can have a new 5 gallon batch of UK Porter to tap just for this event.
