Thought it would be fun to do one of these threads for Chaos.
Homebrewtalk has had one of these threads for a while, and they ended up with about 31,000 gallons last year. I'm not as interested in the gallon count, so much as I think it would be a good way to keep up with what everyone is brewing or working on around Chaos.
No brews for me yet this year, who can start us off?
0 + 0 = 0
5 gallons yesterday!
I know that not everybody is 100% accurate on the calendar, and that some people can book a single bay for 2 batches, or maybe brew a 10 gallon batch, and some people may reserve time and then not show up because life gets in the way, if we assume that every regular bay reservation is 5 gallons and tower of power reservation is 10 gallons, I wonder if Brock can just do a sum/product of the reservation on the calendar from the previous year.
How excatly is the reservation data stored? Is there an easy way to count it up?
I got the New Year off to a good start with 15 gallons on the 2nd - 10 of basic APA and 5 of a "Session" Coffee Stout for Coffee School at SCN!
Boolish: that might be do-able. I might have time this weekend to play around with the database, or at least sanitize it to share a copy with others who want to take a crack at it.
And for the manual data collection: I did 12 five-gallon batches in 2015.
My gut feeling is that this information could be used against us negatively in the future, especially with that manner in which the Governor is essentially gutting the Illinois Liquor Commission to just be an advisory board to the beer/wine/spirits distributors.
TL:DR - The benefit doesn't outweigh the risk.
