CHBG Burning Car Classic - Winter Edition

Chicago Home Brewers' Group will be holding the second in its soon-to-be-if-we-really-feel-like-it-quarterly competition series, the Burning Car Classic! Our event is a single-style heat decided by the winner of the previous competition.  For this edition, the style chosen is BJCP 2015 Category 21A - The American IPA.

This is a call for all of you lupulin lovers to submit your own liquid poem to the glory of the hop*! We will be pitting competitors against each other on February 11th at the brewery of our most generous host, Maplewood Brewing & Distilling (2717 N. Maplewood Ave)! First place winner will get the dubious honor of choosing the category for our next competition. In order to be eligible to compete, please register your entry here by February 5th. All entries should be brought to the competition site on the night of the competition.

In addition, we are looking for SIX, count 'em, SIX judges to help us make this happen. While BJCP credentials are fantastic, we're looking for anyone who has comfort evaluating beer. If you or a friend is interested but is on the fence, I plan to host a preparatory session in advance of the competition. Hell, I'll even buy you an IPA. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Best of luck and happy brewing!

*-Please don't sue us, Greg Koch.

Harry, you're getting grass

Harry, you're getting grass mats because you're dry hopping too long. Dial it back, buddy.
