Advice/Insight needed on keg for party

Hey Chaos.

Quick question: what's the thought on serving a ludicrisly high alcohol cider at the next party?

It never got cold enough to make true applejack... so I'm left with 4 gallons of "cider" that was once 7 gallons of 10-12% alcohol cider... So it's now somewhere between 18-24%?

It tastes pretty good, and I haven't back sweetened it yet. I don't want to put it in my keezer, so I thought a party would be a great way to deal with it...

Any objections to serving a 20% cider a party? I guess we can lable it with a "danger" sticker. Maybe name it something obvious like "at your own dram risk" or etc...

Actually, if people are down with it going on tap; I'll use the funniest warning name submitted to this post

Thanks guys.

I see no issue with it as

I see no issue with it as long as whomever is serving it does so judiciously...  and as long as we are clear about advertising the alcohol content and the bartender is pouring responsibly, I think it would be great and would really showcase the frontiers of what can be done which is really what we are all about.  I love the idea, the key, really is just a responsible bartender and clear labeling.  There may be stories about a Whirlyball tournament we entered as a club had bartenders that were serving me 20oz glasses of a beer that should have been in an 8oz snifter.  I didn't know anything about the beer prior to and the ABV wasn't labeled...I don't think the bartender really had any idea either.  I'll just say we lost at whirlyball pretty bad and it was probably my fault.   So we pour that one real short and keep an eye on "repeat customers", no big deal  to me.

Kris - maybe you weren't logged in? Not everything is visible if not. I see it obviously.

Here's a name for you:

Not sure why it wouldn't have

Not sure why it wouldn't have appeared on the front page. I see it there now, both when I'm logged in and when I'm not. Maybe it was a weird caching error or something. I think that list just shows however many topics, sorted by those with the newest comments.

And I don't have a better

And I don't have a better name suggestion but I vote against anything with "bitch slap" in it

Generally no problem I would

Generally no problem I would assume. Beers at stout night regularly top 10% territory and we regularly have club bottle shares feature beasts like bourbon city and Black Tuesday.

Like others have said, advertise the abv and trust the volunteers. As long as it doesn't taste like Tactical Nuclear Penguin it should be fine.

Kris as a matter of personal

Kris as a matter of personal curiosity how did you measure the alcohol content? It was always my understanding that any gravity readings are basically null and void the minute you do anything to alcohol that is not sugar -> ethanol.
