In our conversations at NHC we found a new product that may save us and help our sanitation. All stainless (w rubber o-rings) quick disconnects for ball lock kegs. Through the power of bulk buying, we can offer these to the membership at similar pricing to the plastic ones, $7.50 each. I'm going to set up a group buy for these right now. We have to order at least $200 to hit this price, half of that was accounted for just from members who saw them at NHC.
Mark - Did you put up a group buy for this? Definitely interested in buying a few.
Why are these better? Besides the fact that you can boil them, what's the difference?
I've not seen them in-person either, but I think that, in addition to the sanitation issue, stainless steel is more durable than plastic. For my ball locks, the disconnects work well for a while and then get hard to connect and disconnect. Don't have the same problem with pin locks, but that's my experience with ball locks.
I have no idea if these will work better or not, but for $7.50 I'll give it a go.

The plastic ball lock flat-head screw at the top strips easily, too. I had one I could no longer unscrew after a few disassemblies. I'd imagine SS wouldn't have that issue.
Exactly - my experience with the plastic ball locks is after a few disassemblies they warp and don't fit as well. End once they get scratched up on the inside, I assume wild yeasts can live on them just fine....
They're all stainless for roughly the same price, a no-brainer to try at least in my opinion. The one issue I might foresee if if your posts are banged up, they won't be forgiving like the plastic ones and might not fit.

If there is still a chance of ordering these, I would definitely prefer to fulfill the order. But if the majority of people would prefer a refund I'm okay with that too.
