Hey guys, Rev is selling off some 2nd use barrels on the cheap. Is there any interest in getting one or do we have plenty of whiskey barrels for the time being?
If we went through witht he purchase, we would need someone to coordinate pickup of the barrel, and we'd also need our barrel master to start prepping a barrel project. Have we ever done a barleywine before?

If I recall, the last time we got barrels from Rev, they were not useable for beer for some reason. It was a long time ago, though. I would check that they reseal them before buying.
That's right!! We actually used one for the octobarrel and another for a table.
I was going to say there may be a reason why Rev doesn't want them (and assumedly neither does Dovetail, who does all their spontaneous beers in used Rev barrels).
yeah i wouldnt ever risk using a second use barrel again. Just never turns out as good as youd think
