Topics Discussed
1. Changing accounting systems: We’ve decided that at this point we do not need to make this change and take on the extra work as well as burden a new volunteer.
2. Carboy and keg storage in the back: Once the shelving is moved upstairs, we’ll build out around the ferm from and the west wall to hold carboys and kegs. This was approved for $200 in lumber. James is the lead for this project, but we will need volunteers!
3. Bathroom not approved, move to next month due to other purchases
4. Chiller approved for $700. Matt is the lead. (I also need help with some design and getting this put together!)
5. Fridge - Throwing it out, no replacement at the moment, but will check freecycle/CL.
6. Jeff: Peace corps dinner next Sunday. Need transportation to and from. If interested in helping, please contact Jeff.
S&CN
Mark is still running party, Matt is running chili cookoff. Going to do different set up with $40 per person limit as well as CHAOS making a large bulk amount of chili. We'll need to get more people making money.
~$600 total for food.
Thanks, Matt!
WHy are we allowing free carboy and keg storage? Isn't that the whole point of renting storage spots, to stash your gear there?
The carboy storage looks like shit as it is and half those carboys haven't been used in years.
Don't worry, there will be a carboy purge in the near future.
Matt - I want back in on the chili cook-off. And the club does not need to reimburse me for anything. Nature will provide.
I'm with Chuck.
Many people's first impression of the club is through that back entrance. Seeing a huge array of barrels ageing different brews: impressive; seeing a huge array of (empty) kegs an carboys: unimpressive.
Furthermore, at the last brewhouse, we rented "parking spots" in the loft and people were expected to keep all their stuff up there. A unilateral decision created some shelving for carboys. But, before that, everyone was expected to store all their gear in their parking spot and it worked.
I don't think the plan now is to make the storage spaces bigger then they currently are, which means there wouldn't be room to store carboys and kegs in the storage spaces. If we're going to take away the carboy storage space, then we need to make the individual storage spaces much bigger.

I am able to store my carboys and kegs in my current storage spot with no problem.
Also you could rent multiple spaces.
The back area is just going to turn into a junk collection catch all.
Also if we are purging carboys that are never used why expand the storage?
I'd rather see the barrel programe expand to that back area than the eyesore of more carboy storage.
The plan is to use that area as a combo carboy/keg storage area.
A couple of months ago, Rich and I went through all the fermenters and got rid of any that weren't labeled or were from people who are no longer members.

People should pay for whatever additional storage they use, period. Especially since we just increased our overhead substantially to provide additional storage under the assumption that people would be paying for using it.
