Hey Folks,
My new year resolution is to brew more, and we could use more beer in the keezer, so I'm launching Stylin Sundays for 2017 (every second Sunday.)
I was thinking of brewing from 2-8pm (after the morning crew clears.) Sunday afternoon/evening is kind of a dead zone in the brew schedule. It's a good time for me, and I was hoping new brewers would find it helpful to have another time besides Open House and Tuesday Brewsday to check things out and get assistance.
I was curious what an annual grain bill would look like (tallied in graphic below). Maybe this kind of schedule could inform our group buys?
That is a great looking wheel. I'd buy that on a shirt.
I'm not understanding the different levels of the wheel. For instance, July is Wheat/Fruit, then "light" but brewing and ESB?? Doesn't really jive to my eyes unless I'm missing something.
Hey Kyle, I agree the wheel isn't clear. The outer ring of styles is what you're drinking. The inner ring is what you're brewing, which is always three months earlier (gonna let these condition.)
I need to work on the design. There is a "Seasons of CHAOS" graphic I'm working on that lists our parties in a circle around the logo, that would be more tshirt worthy.
Sweet!, got it!
I need to brew more too in 2017.
Bring back the "brew a beer at all 4 brew bays and let's do it at midnight" mentality, Chuck...
Never again will I do that! Brewing 4 beers at once what not a relaxing homebrew experience.
I think this graphic gets the idea across better. Northern Brewer has a brew calendar like this, but it's hard to visualize the whole year.

Going through my recipes, I've noticed 8 lbs of base grain can make for decent session strength with little or no sparging, but more aggresive sparging on the same base grain with boiling down gets me up around 1.080
Very, cool design, Steve, and a noble New Years resolution!
The T shirt is an intriguing idea - could be like the old concert shirts, artwork on the front, grain bills on the back?
That chart is much easier to read! I like this concept!
Pretty damn slick
Damn. That's awesome. I'd buy that on a shirt, too.
Technical blunders have me stalled on another project, so I put my time and angst into a poster, getting in the tshirt worthy zone...
Sounds like someone wants to challenge Tuesday Brewsday to a brew-off...
I'm down for a CHAOS concert shirt
The emperor is not as forgiving as i am
Steven I really dig the graphics and concept! Bravo.
Damn, son. That is pretty cool.
Steven, the XD on the colored wheel is great...I think the design is awesome, and put me done for a concert shirt, I'm thinking a golden ale colored shirt with the monthly style / grain bill on the back like your 12/22 post

Aw man, this sounds awesome. Sundays are a lot easier for me to do than Tuesdays, so I'd be able to come hang out more than I have for Brewsdays (I still love you, Mike and James).
Steven, can I get this on the web-site and FB calendars with the graphic above or do you want to do it yourself?
Hey Jim, I've updated the graphic. I can post tomorrow.
January conflicts with the delayed club meeting. I figured 2nd Sunday would follow our 1st Sunday meetings, but we do tend to move the club meeting when it conflicts with holidays or big game days.
January is a soft launch :)
Sounds good, Steven! I can do way more Sundays than I can do Tuesday nights so I will definitely stop by for one of the inaugural Stylin' Sundays. Thanks for doing this! This was an awesome idea!!
Hey Brewsters, I decided to move Stylin Sundays to the 3rd Sunday of the month, which gives us another weekend event on the monthly calendar.
I just added next Sunday's brew to the calendar. We'll have a Gruit on tap, and I'll be brewing a Rye Pale Ale.
Steven, are you going to do FB events for this, too?
I need to rework the banner graphic, things have changed in the schedule.
I'm buried in work this week, might not get it done.
