Body:

Hey all, for the upcoming Cerveza De Mayo party, Americo and I are deciding to run a beer school. We have a few options to choose from and depending on the output of the poll, will need to get started right away(So vote soon!). Here are the 3 options that we have. Please vote on the above poll as soon as you can and also send me a PM if you want to participate in the school.

Option 1: History of Mexican Beer - We will discuss the history of beer in Mexico and how the German immigrants coming over in the 18th century changed how they brew beer. One member would brew/concoct Pulque which was a traditional alcoholic beverage consumed before the arrival of european immigrants. We would couple this with brewing clones of classic Mexican beers like Victoria(1865), Indio(1905), Bohemia, Ambar Dos XX, etc)

Option 2: Fruit Adjunct School - The goal here would be to learn about the differences in using fresh fruit as an adjunct vs using a premade syrup of the same fruit flavor. We would brew 4 10 gallon batches of a traditional mexican lager(most likely a vienna lager) and split the batches in two. One would concoct a puree out of fresh fruit and add in secondary, the other would purchase a syrup/premade puree and we would serve them side by side so you can taste the difference.

Option 3: Aguas Frescas - Once again leaning on and promoting Mexican culture, we will have a beer take on Aguas Frescas. The base beer would be the German Radler and everyone would add different flavors of fruit/soda to replicate the flavors of the most common Aguas Frescas available(Limon, Tamarind, Hibiscus, Mango, etc.)

No offense, not a fan of any of these. Would rather do an open theme or a beer school like malt/hops.
