The club has been invited to serve our beer at the 1st Annual Nacho Fest on Sunday, June 25th. It'll be held at Chop Shop/1st Ward at 2033 W North Ave. Three club members will be provided with VIP passes to attend and pour for the club. We will need to provide three full five gallon kegs of beer for the event.
Jayson has volunteered to brew a beer and pour for the event. He needs two more volunteers to pour and at least one more beer. (Kyle may be able to brew one on Monday.)

Yeah who wants to hang out and pour some beers? Oh and eat some nachos. FYI, I am going to brew an American Wheat.
Sure, sounds like fun. I'll figure out what I'm making this weekend. The Dream Team back together!
Ok, I'm in for having a beer - I'll be brewing this Sunday and will do a lower gravity, pale lager to help wash away all that tortilla chip salt and jalapeno spice.
Probably won't be able to attend, though, but if I can, I'll let y'all know asap.
I'm leaning towards a Mosaic NEIPA
Awesome. That would be a nice balanced offering. Pale lager, mildly hopped wheat, and a hoppy NE IPA.
Agreed. Good job, team.
So is there still room for me to join in? I'm available to pour. Not sure if I'll have time to brew, but I could make it happen!
John, I think so. We've got the three beers and Rich and I volunteered to pour. Kyle was on the fence on attending, so barring his sudden availability for the festival, you are in!
As much as I would love to attend, I'll defer to John. I'll need a break after the other two beer-related events I need to attend to Fri/Sat.
Sweet. Thanks Kyle! And everyone else for making this happen. Kyle, I promise to not take credit for your amazing beer when Jay and Rich are in earshot
And I'm happy that we won't have to take credit for John's beer
Do we know if they're giving us a table or anything? Ice? Or should we come ready for anything?
So far, they've just invited us to serve our beer. I'll follow-up with more info as I get it.
Not an expert on this and they don't have much info on their website, but it seems possible that this is the sort of event that is legal for professional (licensed) craft brewers to participate in but not homebrewers. I think in Illinois that you can serve homebrew at an event or festival where the general public is invited and attendees are charged an admission fee only if the proceeds go to a charitable purpose. The notion is that you can't sell homebrew but the legislature made an exception. Again, I'm not an expert on this. And there may be a distinction between what is legal and what is enforced.

All proceeds go to benefit Un86'd, which I believe is a charity. Does that solve any issues?
When I looked earlier, they didn't have any info up, now I see that they do. From my understanding, which is not very full, that should be fine.

Yeah sorry I was posting from my phone earlier. I saw it under their https://www.nachofestival.com/faq/ section. Good idea thinking though. Would hate to get caught in a legal conundrum just trying to promote the CHAOS brand!
I posted this on the board thread, but just for due diligence.
I'm making a keg-hopped NEIPA if spots are still open.
Uh, the NEIPA spot is taken Dude. Are you trying to pull rank on us?
I got some more info this morning. The event is 11-3 and they'll let me know about the set time in a couple weeks. The event will provide ice and cups. We'll need to bring everything else needed for serving; so gas, regulator, and picnic taps.
Ahh damn didn't see your post before I did. Sorry, Rich, this one's all yours.
No worries, James. I was hoping to avoid the ever-so-small chance that yours might be better than mine, as ridiculous as that sounds
We are officially listed as one of the beer providers!

So, is anyone making a beer besides Jay and I? I am not sure that is going to cut it.
Edit: Forgot Kyle was making one. Disregard
Gee, thanks Rich.
Hey everyone. Something came up and I don't think I'll be able to make the fest. Does anyone want to pour in my stead? I think we are ok on beers, but I think James was interested in pouring. Thanks!
Sounds great John! If ee need a beer I also have a gose in reserve. Otherwise I will see you guys there
James - You are probably the only guy I know with a Gose in reserve. I say bring it if you want, though we need to figure out how we are pouring these beers. Do we have a jockey box with four taps?
Thansk James. I'm really sorry to miss this event. Have fun!
James, I let them know that you're going instead of John.
The blue jockey boxes have 4 taps each.
Then I guess we are serving James' Grand Reserve Gose!
So, what's the plan? Get our shit together on Saturday night and grab it and go on Sunday morning?
Kyle- can you leave your beer in the fridge Saturday?
Yep, Saturday will be perfect. I'm kegging it tomorrow and will have it gassed up and cleared by Saturday.
Yeah lets chat Saturday night at the brew house. I just put my American Wheat in the keezer to carb. Should be ready by this weekend.
Load in time is at 10:00 am! Becca is the name of the onsite person coordinating the beer and equipment drop offs.
10-4. James can get everything set up while Jay and I scope out the Nacho situation....
I'm gonna get so drunk on nachos...
Wait...what?
James - You took John's place. He agreed to do everything while we eat Nachos and socialize. He didn't mention that?
This is all true. Sorry James
This was a great time. I think we were the first one to run out of beer, very well received.
Couple notes if we do it in the future:
Glad to hear it was a success. Good take aways, Rich, but it sounds like the beer spoke for itself
Well done, guys! Way to represent.
Thanks for representing!!! Not useful now, but there is a small banner version of the wooden CHAOS sign inside the bigger banner from NHC
Yeah, that would have been nice to know since had it with us...
