Hop Hash Help

On a lark i picked up a half pound of El Dorado Hop Hash from yakima valley.  Anyone brew with hop hash before?  Pretty tough to find any solid recipie or brewing info online so far.

So far ive learned it should be whirpooled in and maybe 1oz per 5 gallons.  To dry hop with it you should emulsify in high abv grain alcohol.

Anyone with real world experience?

Hop Hash is the resin/glands

Hop Hash is the resin/glands that remain on the machinery after processing the cones.  They scrape it off and sell it now (used to be garbaged).  Theoretically it is hops flavor with much less of the plant matter.  It is basically the same thing (but not identical) as lupulin powder.  I would also say it would be similar to the hop shots type thing.

This is one of the big things that they are using in the haze craze.

Havent seen any good recipies yet.  I will post anything i learn though for sure.

Ok, so the thing with hop

Ok, so the thing with hop hash (and cryo-hops) is that the extra oil content means it will float on wort/beer. The trick is to use it in kettle/whirlpool additions and stir like fuck.

The AA content is about 2x greater than pellet hops, so a good rule of thumb here is to cut what you typically use in half. When I made NEIPA, I would use about 2-3 ounces of cry hops in whirlpool additions.

My experience with mosaic and galaxy cryohops was that it cut down on some of the grassy notes, but had a lot of the "dank, wild" hop aroma, with a little bit of fruit hidden beneath there.

Emulsifying with grain alcohol is not something I personally would recommend because finding truly neutral alcohol is hard, and you still need to stir the fuck out of it anyway.

My advice is to use it as kettle/whirlpool to get the huge flavor. Because you're using a lot less hops, you'll have a little bit more freedom to dry hop with regular pellets vis-a-vis vegetable matter.
