I have a 15gal FEW Bourbon Barrel that was given to me by Old Irving Brewing. They used it for 1 fill of Krampus Cookies.
I'm thinking of brewing a Wee Heavy (Yeast harvested from Scottish Light Comp) for this and entering it in the Barrel Aged catagory in some of the upcoming Midwest Beer competitions. PM me for details.
There were like 4 new members who got back to me about my barrel that didn't get in. You'd get some responses if you messaged trials and apprentices.
That's fantastic, James. You should talk to Kyle Nordquist (the board member overseeing the barrel rack) about whether there is room for your barrel there - we could move stuff around, adjust the height of the middle shelf, etc. What I did with the two barrels I'm running is reach out to new-ish members and members who hadn't participated in barrel projects before. Had no trouble getting folks to sign up for it, plus you only need two more folks. I'll send you a PM.

Hi all, I have 1 more slot open for the Wee Heavy Barrel. (5gal/pp).
I’m working on getting another Barrel from the Brewery for a CHAOS BA Quad project.
Same plan, 2nd barrel in the Competition series. Details to follow once I get that 2nd barrel.
