Join us Friday Night for the Muntons & Chaos Scottish Light Competition
The secret ingredient was Muntons Grain and the challenge has been the Scottish Light Style. 16 brewers have been using their senses, skill, creativity and brewing prowess to prepare artisanal beers meant to impress. And if ever a challenger wins over the Judges, he or she will gain the club's ovation and fame forever. Every battle, reputations are on the line at the brew house, where master brewers pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiration did they have? Whose Beer will reign supreme!?
Judging should done Friday night by 7:30 or 8, but you're welcome to come over at any time. I'll order some pizzas for anyone who wants to stay.
Entries go in the upstairs fridge, please, and if there is no room there, then in the fridge downstairs by the garage door. Put your name on two slips of paper and attach them to the two bottles you're entering with rubber bands. For the specialty entrants, if you want to describe your beer differently than you did when you entered it online, include that on the slip of paper, also.
If you signed up and ended up not dropping off bottles, please let Patty or me know so we're not searching the brewhouse for it.
We've got a good group of judges lined up: Jordan Van Kluck (Square Kegs, BJCP National), Paul di Crosti (Goose Island, BJCP Certified), Dave Fetty (Brixies, BJCP National), Ross Hughes (Muntons, BJCP Certified), Meg Sawa (Brixies, BJCP Certified) and me. We'll have one or two other guests from Muntons, also.
