Enter the 28th Annual Charlie Orr Memorial Chicago Cup Challenge, the oldest competition in the Chicago area. In addition to individual medals, the homebrew club with the most points wins the Chicago Cup.
If you are interested in volunteering as a steward or apprentice judge, let me know. Its a great way to see how a competition works, from the inside.
Thanks for the heads up, Jim!

Five CHAOS brewers have entered 15 beers. This is a good competition to enter, high percentage of senior judges, inexpensive ($7/entry), and easy drop-off. If you have a mead, cider or beer ready, go ahead and enter it. The club with the most total points wins the Chicago Cup - but we don't have nearly enough entries to be in the hunt for the Chicago Cup, at this point.
Brew & Grow is a drop-off center (March 8th deadline) and I will also hand deliver any entries to Hailstorm on March 1st, if you want to leave your entries at the brewhouse. Just let me know you're doing that.

Problem fixed :) I will need all the way till 3/8 to deliver as I'm going to be out of town till 3/1.

Six....and I'll take some junior judges too. These beers have hops. You can't keep us down forever.
Oh, and I can help deliver entries to B&G if needed as well.
Wow, our number of entries from CHAOS just doubled! We're now up to 29 entries, which is the second most for a homebrew club. Its all based on medals, so with 29 entries, CHAOS could definitely get hot and push BOSS for the Chicago Cup. The odds are still against CHAOS, they'd be better with more entries, but it is definitely possible now.
Many entries come in from unaffiliated brewers (no homebrew club listed) but of those that do list a homebrew club, here's the numbers as of today. These will change, there will probably be another 100 - 150 entries in the next two weeks, I suspect we'll be around 400 entries total. As of right now, though, CHAOS is the only club positioned to take the Chicago Cup from BOSS.

HECK YEA!!
Nice, now let's bring home 29 medals!
We just had a second Master-level judge register for the Chicago Cup. This is unusual for a Chicago competition. Last year, Drunk Monk had none. This year, Winterbrew had none.
That means at the Chicago Cup, two of the three members of the Best-of-Show panel will be among the top 5% of judges in this country. Quality!

I'm sure they'll enjoy my entries.
I will pick up entries at the brewhouse tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 3 pm and deliver them to Hailstorm. Just let me know if you want me to bring your entries. I know I'm bringing Kyle's and Jeff's.
You have another week before the entry and submission deadline - May 8th. Brew & Grow is a drop off site.
