CHAOS ELECTIONS 2020 - Board of Directors (3 Years)

If you would like to nominate a CHAOS Member or yourself for one of three available board positions please do so by replying to this thread.

Please note the three positions are currently held by Reed Rousel, Todd Stewart, and Brandon Kessler.

There is nothing in the bylaws which prevent a director from voluntarily contributing monetarily to the club but above and beyond money the board of directors is comprised of people who are devoted to the club emotionally, physically, mentally, intellectually, and socially; what they really offer is ideas, encouragement, making connections for the club as well as within the club, giving the club direction, community building initiatives (e.g., identifying and fostering future committed and active members), and enthusiastically and energetically promoting the club’s mission (which is, first and foremost, education and community involving home and craft brew).

Board of Director Member Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Must be present at a minimum of 9 (out of 12) monthly board meetings (attendance may be via telephone, i.e., someone who is present putting you on speaker phone);
  • Must contribute time and energy continually and substantially to the benefit of the club. This may include but is certainly not limited to: being present at club events (classes, festivals, etc.); organizing and arranging the brew house; participating in online and in-person discussions.
  • Discussing – and subsequently approving/denying – requests and proposals from Officers;
  • Making contacts and reaching out to people on behalf of the club (including potential and current partners);

Directors can, should, and will be subject to removal “with or without cause” (according to the bylaws) by simple majority vote of the other board of directors. Basically what that means is that Directors must indeed continually and substantially devote time and energy to the club lest other directors deem you are not “pulling your weight” and vote you off the island.

Note: Any posts that are not a nomination (this includes discussion about candidates) will be deleted without mercy.

I would like to nominate

I would like to nominate Patty McGuire and Chris Heyman for the open board seats.

Patty has been a club member for quite a while now and has been pictching in for parties and other events since joining. She definitely has the dedication and knowledge about what we do as a club and will be a great addition to the board.

While Chris is recently returned to CHAOS, he was actually president of his brew club in Michigan. I think this will allow Chris to bring some experience, along with some outside CHAOS ideas, to the board.

I'd like to nominate Reed

I'd like to nominate Reed Roussel for another term as a board member.

He's been an asset since day 1 to CHAOS and has a deep commitment to our success. Reed has proven himself time and time again as a current board member, and his knowledge will be instrumental moving forward.

Cheers - Brandon

Thank you Jeff!! I accept your nomination, and I also look forward to serving the CHAOS community in any way I can!

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

Kevin! Much appreciated

Kevin! Much appreciated brother.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time on the board. I think collectively we’ve implemented a successful path forward for Chaos in the past couple of years, along with some great brewhouse additions!

However, I feel like the board needs some new blood going forward. So - I’m going to respectfully decline your nomination.

I’ll still be at the service of the club whenever needed :)

I'd like to nominate myself

I'd like to nominate myself for an open board seat. Over the last year and a half that I've been a chaos member, I believe I've shown just how much I care about the club and have put a lot of time and effort into making it a better brewclub and place for everyone. I'd be a valuable addition to the board and could provide a strong voice to help CHAOS going forward!

I second Alex's nomination.

I second Alex's nomination. It's very beneficial to have board members who are a constant fixture at the brewhouse.
