Later this spring, Patty McGuire Cook is organizing a competition for club members, focused on three dark lager styles - International Dark Lager (2C), Czech Dark Lager (3D) and Schwartzbier (8B).
In this workshop we'll discuss the styles, how they relate to each other and similar styles, their history, and their flavor profiles. We will work on our palates, to taste and identify the key aroma and flavor elements of these subtle, nuanced beers, building taste memory. We'll taste and discuss commercial examples of these styles and some of the keys to brewing them.
There is no cost for the workshop and you don't have to participate in the competition to join us at the workshop - anyone is welcome.
