Board Meeting Notes - November 8, 2015

Attended: Conrad, Nancy, Ken, Kyle, Matt, Mark, Mike, Jeff, Chuck, Joe

Updates on old business:

• Ken: Josh is waiting on purchasing facets until the new counter top comes in. He wants to make sure the sizes fit, sometimes they are slightly off.
• Kyle: new Immersion chiller needed, request for $250 budget (board approved) 
• Nancy: Nielsen-Massey currently at 34 entries, it's still open for entering until December 1. Near the end of November I will reach out to judges once we know an accurate number of bottles recieved. Hoping to get a few more in before the end of the month.
• Chuck: Tankless water we need a build day within next month, will look at schedule and post something on the forum.
• Mark/Ken: membership increase as noted in board retreat (goes into effect January 1, 2016) Impovements to the club and brewing experience are happening within our club. recently we purchased our new lager fridge, and a new sink is to be installed soon. We have yet to increase our dues in over four years, we will be increasing them $2-4 increase across all levels is reflected in the new pricing below and is for a monthly due:
  Alchemist/brewer level $29 (reflects $3 increase)
  Apprentice level - $19 (reflects $4 increase)
  Friend level - $9 (reflects $2 increase)
  Trial - $35 (45 days) ($5 increase and a 15 day extension)
  January 1, 2016 - effective date for increase.
• Ken: we have a camera to monitor entrance/access in and out of CHAOS. It is there as a security measure to monitor safety and people coming and going.

New business: 

• Dec. 5 Secret Santa and bottle share holiday party. Food budget $300 or under same as last year, most likely tacos.
• Tuesday brews day... Matt got a job in the evenings so Mike and James are going to take it over. It would be great to make it more special moving forward and involve some local professional Brewers too. 
• We need event specific equipment, a new jockey box, and tap lines. There was a lot of running around pulling things together for Harvest Fest. We just need the equipment on hand and ready to go.
• Mark: we are breaking our 50k annual threshold so for our accounting will need to switch over to a new system in early 2016
• Mark: Gas/heat, budget approved to upgrade. It was actually approved at the board retreat and needs to be implemented.
• Chuck: Blue frog restaurant is closing we can go in, get the first look at things and get the stuff we want. They have a stove, need to look into if it's worth it and other commerical kitchen items, like stainless steel tables etc.  
• Education: Jeff and Kyle will teach a bjcp class in 2016, it will be similar to the one taught it 2013 by then CHAOS president James. We are thinking of having it hosted at CHAOS. We already have the test date, due to Jim V. booking it a while back. Workign on the structure and final details for that.
• Conrad will be talking over Lucas website roles, with Steven's help.
