If you would like to nominate a CHAOS Member or yourself for one of the three available board positions please do so by replying to this thread.
There is nothing in the bylaws which prevent a director from voluntarily contributing monetarily to the club but above and beyond money the board of directors is comprised of people who are devoted to the club emotionally, physically, mentally, intellectually, and socially; what they really offer is ideas, encouragement, making connections for the club as well as within the club, giving the club direction, community building initiatives (e.g., identifying and fostering future committed and active members), and enthusiastically and energetically promoting the club’s mission (which is, first and foremost, education and community involving home and craft brew).
Board of Director Member Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Must be present at a minimum of 9 (out of 12) monthly board meetings (attendance may be via telephone, i.e., someone who is present putting you on speaker phone);
- Must contribute time and energy continually and substantially to the benefit of the club. This may include but is certainly not limited to: being present at club events (classes, festivals, etc.); organizing and arranging the brew house; participating in online and in-person discussions.
- Discussing – and subsequently approving/denying – requests and proposals from Officers;
- Making contacts and reaching out to people on behalf of the club (including potential and current partners);
Directors can, should, and will be subject to removal “with or without cause” (according to the bylaws) by simple majority vote of the other board of directors. Basically what that means is that Directors must indeed continually and substantially devote time and energy to the club lest other directors deem you are not “pulling your weight” and vote you off the island.
Note: Any posts that are not a nomination (this includes discussion about candidates) will be deleted without mercy.
I'd like to start with nominating Icehouse (Rob Caro) he's been a great resource to the club and will make a great contribution to the board.
I second that nomination!
I'd also like to nominate Todd Stewart for the board. Todd is super enhusiastic about the club, an experienced brewer, and more than capable in providing input for and making big decisions. I think he can contribute in keeping the club on course as a great homebrew organization and bringing new ideas to keep us interesting and relevant.
I'd like to nominate Reed Roussel and Jayson Gowdy for the board.
Both members are perpetual staples around the brewhouse, eager to give their time and energy in volunteer efforts. Participation is what makes the board function, and I believe both Reed and Jayson will be immeasurable assets.
Great choices - second.
Yes, great nominations all around!
I'd also like to nominate Brandon Kessler for the same reasons as above. He's involved with pretty much everything the club does and always provides great input on club matters. I think he would be a great addition to the board.
I accept your nomination and hope I can provide a positve influence for the club.
You betta..

I accept the nomination as well. I run on a simple fact that I will rid our brewhouse of splinter and his friends.
1) Todd can only run if he proves he's knowledgable enough to learn how to rotate his profile picture
2) I accept my nomination
I gladly accept your nomination and am excited about the opportunity to work withe the board and officers to move the vision of the club along and act as an advocate for the general membership of the club
I'll be proud to pass my seat on to any of these candidates. A great lot for sure
I'm pleased to nominate Matt Omera to reprise his term on the board. Matt has been a huge asset to the board and the club and has done a great job with education.
I accept!
This pleases me.
